Description

Highly regarded for its accessibility and focus on practical applications, Control Systems Engineering offers students a comprehensive introduction to the design and analysis of feedback systems that support modern technology. Going beyond theory and abstract mathematics to translate key concepts into physical control systems design, this text presents real-world case studies, challenging chapter questions, and detailed explanations with an emphasis on computer aided design. Abundant illustrations facilitate comprehension, with over 800 photos, diagrams, graphs, and tables designed to help students visualize complex concepts. Multiple experiment formats demonstrate essential principles through hypothetical scenarios, simulations, and interactive virtual models, while Cyber Exploration Laboratory Experiments allow students to interface with actual hardware through National Instruments’ myDAQ for real-world systems testing. This emphasis on practical applications has made it the most widely adopted text for core courses in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, biomedical, and chemical engineering. Now in its eighth edition, this top-selling text continues to offer in-depth exploration of up-to-date engineering practices. Read more

  • Has the essentials but print quality is sub par
All end of chapter problems are at the end of the book, not the chapters. Many of the example problems reference going to the Wiley website for a worked solution. Both questions and example solutions can be downloaded as a PDF from Wiley for free. The paper quality is poor, similar to cheap low weight printer paper many pages are stuck together in my book from what appears to be glue that dripped on the bottom edge of the book The entire book is printed in greyscale, no color images not a huge problem but does make reading a bit more difficult. The information presented is fairly clear and tends to focus on conceptual understanding instead of purely mathematical representations. Overall good material but a poor printing of it. ... show more

  • Great Controls System reference
Book provides a lot of real-world examples, and worked problems. However, maybe not as rigorous in mathematical details as the book by Ogata.

  • Excellent book
This book covers in a very didactic way the topics of automatic control and also analyzes cases using matlab / simulink and labview, two fundamental tools to simulate automatic control systems. As for the quality of your printing, there is nothing to reproach.

  • No problem sets at end of chapters
No practice problems at end of each chapter like traditional textbooks. Rest is fine.
