I replaced one of the old school float Style condensation pumps for the air conditioner in my basement. The other one, which is only a few years old, kept sticking and preventing the air condition from coming on. This unit does not have a float. It seems to work on sensors in then rides that extend down into the tank. It's a sleek little unit. There are four intake holes along the top that work with your traditional half inch PVC pipe coming off your air condition. There's a test button on the top just so you can make sure it's working. And when it is pumping water, it's very quiet. If you run a test without water in there it makes a loud squeaking sound but that's not how it sounds when there's actually water in there. But I wasn't sure about when I bought it was whether it had wiring to connect to your AC's overflow shut off but it does. It's extremely simple to wire up. You just plug one end into the pump and wire up the other ends of the two wires to your overflow safety wiring, it doesn't matter which one goes to which, and you're in business. I'm not had any problems with this unit not pumping water or my air conditioner not coming on since I installed this pump. ... show more

I like the clean design, quiet and powerful operation, flexible install and maintenance options. Definitely a lot of good design ideas here. Quirks: 1. Taller than previous pump so one drain pipe won't clear the top and having to replumb. 2. It takes a lot more than 16mm of water to trigger the pump. I have to fill the tank almost to the top. 3. The included tubing fused with the Styrofoam packing so it is a bit ugly. 4. The pump filter is loose, so it floats out of position if you open the lid with water in the tank. ... show more

I'm pretty happy with this pump, worth the price. It's pretty quiet, it makes probably around 30 decibels. Installation is pretty straightforward, it doesn't require wiring, saving me quite some trouble. I recommend it.

I recently tried the Cleartide Condensate Pump, but unfortunately, it failed to pump effectively. I used it in place of a furnace pump, intending to pump a test liquid up a tube with an 8-foot rise. Despite the pump running, the water barely moved through the tube, crawling just a few inches before the pump stopped. This performance was disappointing, especially given its specifications of 110 GPH and a 23.6ft head height.
