Description

The Concord low loft bed is an intelligent solution for limited spaces. It frees the floor, making room for play, extra storage, or even placement of a second mattress on the floor beneath it. This low loft bed is the perfect compromise for younger kids who may not be ready for a high loft or bunk bed. Constructed of 100% solid wood, this loft bed features front and rear safety guard rails. The attached ladder can be placed on either the left or right side of the bed. The bed includes a 14 piece slat foundation - no box spring is needed. With safety in mind, this bed passes all government safety standards and is ASTM certified. The first one arrived and the package was torn up and as we expected a part of the bed frame was split in half. Called amazon and new one sent immediately. Bought this for my ten year old daughter. Yes the wood is cheap, it will dent easily, but the entire bed frame is actually sturdy and looks so cute in her room. She loves the bed and I actually really like it too. Her brother who is 8 now wants one. i would buy this again, well I did buy another for my son. It’s on its way. Update: We bought another bed like this one. Assembly is fine, definitely need two people at least, to hold things together. Only issue we found was the screws that hold the ladder to the frame were missing, the directions didn't include this step and supply list didn't even have them listed. If this second bed had been our first we would not have realized what is missing, just that something was missing, it was some screws with sleeves. The first bed was also missing some plugs to hide holes in the wood, but that wasn't a big deal, but the screws for the ladder is an issue. Amazon did provide a discount for the item, but it was either replace the entire bed or a discount. We will try to find the replacement screws. ... show more

We got this bed frame for our 7 year old with the intent of keeping it until she is 12-13. First off- it is HEAVY. We recommend a dolly or two people to lift or move it so you don’t damage it or other things in your house trying to move it. If you are completely solo, lay out a rug and drag the rug. Main concerns people mentioned were that it was hard to assemble and that it wasn’t very sturdy. We disagree with both. For us, it was 1 adult all the way, a second adult helping occasionally and our 7 year old as a side kick to the main adult on the project. Really, a single adult could probably handle it fine aside from moving the box as a whole. Everything arrived in excellent condition and VERY early (3 days before predicted delivery- a surprise with COVID19 causing delivery disruption). The half loft space is enough for a few bean bags and a play area for our 7 year old and the 4 year old sibling. It is a cute play space that expands the amount of room given that there is a full sized bed inside the space. It fits a regular full size mattress on top. The slat bed design is much sturdier than we expected, with each slat screwed into the frame. It says it holds 500lbs. We haven’t tested that limit. But our 7 year old and 4 year old have been up there together (total 85lbs). I plan to be up there for bedtime story with our 7 year old (would be about 215lbs combined). We have made it abundantly clear that they are not allowed to jump on the bed. Given that are kids are small, I actually think this bed might handle it- but of course- I do NOT want to challenge this! This bed was very easy to assemble, it’s very sturdy, i love the color and there’s so much storage space underneath! I’ll start with the pros, as always. The first is ease of assembly! I’m a 19 year old female of average build and I was able to put this together in about three hours by myself with just a screwdriver. I did choose to leave the railing off because, well I’m 19 I don’t think I need a railing! This came with no broken pieces. One piece did have some cosmetic damage but I might have done that so, take it as you will. For sturdiness, I’ve thrown myself onto this bed repeatedly and it barely even shakes. My dogs jump on it, I jump on it, and it holds through it all. As for storage space, I really feel like I can fit more in my small room now! Beds take up a lot of space, so it’s nice to have some under bed space with this one. There aren’t many cons honestly. The bed comes with a little allen key to put it together but I honestly suggest getting yourself a nice ratcheting screwdriver with a hex head and a philips head. You’ll need the screwdriver anyway, one is not included. This bed is also very heavy and awkward to move, so I suggest building it where you plan on keeping it. Overall, amazing purchase, I’m glad I made it. The bed is everything I expected. If you’re looking to buy this bed, do it, just make sure you have a good screwdriver :) ... show more

This is just the perfect little loft bed. It's not too tall where child will hit their head on the ceiling, but tall enough that she can have a little chill area underneath. My 8 year old can't stand under it but it's great to just chill. She made a whole comfy area with lights and everything. My husband put it together in about an hour and had very few problems, he is mechanically inclined though, for reference. It probably would've taken me a day, truthfully. It seems sturdy, other than the actual slats for the bed. They were a little bent and are very noisy and sound like they struggle when both of us are on the bed. It does say not to have 2 people on their at a time though. Children definitely should not jump on this bed, I don't feel it's sturdy enough for that, well at least not for an 8 year old. All in all, this is a beautiful bed and for the price it's awesome. It looks like it costs 3x what it actually does. ... show more

We put a 6 box target shelf underneath and it is the best play area ever. Adults should watch their head though. Bed is very sturdy and my wife will get in bed with my son to comfort him.

This wasn't too hard to assemble mostly by myself but I did need a hand with a couple parts. The ladder isn't quite as sturdy as I'd like but overall, this thing is solid so far. I think the cross beams could be a bit beefier but I got a bunkie board and that helped. The package was damaged when I got it but it's well packed so no damage to any of the components. Assembly was straight forward and the directions were sufficient. The tool sucked (as usual) so I used my own. You really need a drill. The package is heavy and awkward so get someone to help move it. There was no predrilled holes for the vertical supports you put on the rails so you'll have to eyeball it. I'd recommend pulling the sides of the bed together when putting the mattress slats in so they sit fully on the lip. Overall, this is a solid bed and I'm pleased with the purchase.
