  • I LOVE these. Effective compression, but not too constricting.
I absolutely love these. I have had trouble with my legs and feet swelling since my 20s, at every weight (from 123 in my early 20s to 220 lbs mid-pandemic). Now at 61 my legs and feet suddenly got painfully worse and I really need to wear compression garments most of the time. I tried one pair of these leggings, and fell in love. As soon as my latest order arrives I'll have 6 of them! Most important, they are comfortable — so much so that at first I wasn't sure they would do much good. Before these I had a few pairs of really sturdy, thick, super-constricting leggings. They felt great for a while, but were a serious challenge to get on (and I have good mobility and strength!), and were just too much after 6-8 hours. Ultimately I rarely wore them, because they were such a pain. And if you don't wear them, they don't help! These, on the other hand, don't feel that much tighter than my ordinary leggings. But they are more springy, if that makes sense. They stretch enough that they are easy to put on, and are comfortable all day, but they have enough "squeeze" to seriously help with edema. My legs and feet were happier from day one. I wear them every day, all day (but not for sleeping). I wear them just with a t-shirt for working out. I haven't really checked, but I'm not noticing any obvious see-through issues. They definitely are athletic-looking leggings you can wear alone, not thin like nylons/tights. When it's cold I wear them under sweats. At the dojo I wear them under my gi pants. I've worn them under jeans for an all-day train trip to L.A. and back, walking around museums, seeing sites, ... I was happy to ditch the jeans for the ride home, but the leggings were comfortable the whole day and evening. I've worn the black ones (but not with the socks) under skirts, for going out. Is that stylish? Don't know, don't care. I think they look fine, and I'm a whole lot more concerned with health and pain-avoidance than I am with looking cute. Some additional details that might be helpful: Note that these leggings go the the ankles, NOT to your feet/toes. Because edema in my feet is a problem I am also wearing knee-high compression socks under the leggings. That's also what's causing the lines just below my knees in the photos - those lines aren't from the leggings. I have the high-waisted (not super-high-waisted) ones, with pockets, in both black and black camo. Totally happy with both. Also, yay pockets! I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max (the big one), in a case, and it easily fits in the pockets with 1/2" to spare at the top. I keep it there when working out. It's very secure, and doesn't interfere with movement at all. Trust the size chart! Don't rely on your usual size. I typically wear XL, but the chart said 4X, and it was right. At the time I ordered these last month I was 204 lb, with 48" hips and 40" waist. I'm down to 195 lbs, 47" hips, 37.5" waist and these still are perfect. I'm 5' 7" tall, relatively long-legged. These go all the way from my natural waist (about an inch above my bellybutton) to right where my ankles meet my feet. I just measured, while wearing them, and that's 40". These are loose around my ankles. Like, baggy. You can see a little "draping" in the photos where they aren't tight. That's great because it means they aren't constricting around the bottom seam, which would actually hinder return circulation. For reference, my calves are 17" at their widest, and my ankles are 11". I machine wash them on cool, and hang them to dry. Machine drying might be fine, but I'm hoping to help them keep their stretch as long as possible. ... show more

  • great leggings, get the super high waisted leggings if you carry weight in your belly like me
Size: Medium Color: Black Super High Waist W/ Pockets
This past year I have taken up running for my health and quickly realized I needed compression gear to help stabilize my joints. I did some shopping around and decided to invest in this brand of leggings. I tried on a few sets of these leggings before settling on the high waisted size M leggings with pockets. I am a comfortable size 10 pants at Torrid, and have been losing weight. According to my measurements, I started with a size L in the regular high waisted leggings. When I put those on, they felt just like putting on normal leggings. I did not feel much compression so I reordered in a size M. This gave me a decent amount of compression - though I think I'd like even more, honestly. But I know that my waist will probably not be comfortable in a size S. I carry my weight in my belly primarily, so it is what it is. I wear a hip brace when I run to stabilize my si joints and found I need to wear it underneath the leggings so it will stay in place. When I did this on the regular high waisted leggings, the waist kept rolling down and becoming a nuisance during my run. So, I ended up making another exchange and getting the super high waisted leggings in size M. These are perfect. It was the pair I originally wanted to order, but I was trying to find the lowest price and so that was partly why I was trying out the previous pairs. It ended up being one of those things where it really is just worth it to pay the extra $$ to get a comfortable, well-fitting pair of leggings that will stay up and secure while running. ... show more

  • Size chart is off
Size: X-Large Color: Black
I need high waisted compression pants for medical reasons. With a 38" waist, I was going to purchase a 4XL based on the Size Chart. However, after reading some reviews I was unsure as to the sizing, so I asked the question. The manufacturer emailed me and suggested that I try an XL or a 2XL, not a 4XL. I did get the XL, and they are quite snug, which they are supposed to be. I'm afraid that the 2XL might not be snug enough. My only issue is that once I get them on (no small feat for a long legged person), they are quite comfortable, but eating presents a problem unless I eat standing up. So, I will order a second pair in a 2XL and see how that works. They are very well made and do have a sheen to them. I haven't tried laundering them yet, but plan to do so using a delicates bag on my machine's delicate cycle. If they shrink one iota, if I manage to get them on, I'll have to cut them to get them off. (snicker) ... show more
