  • Essential for removing old compression valves without cutting or damaging pipe.
Used to pull an old compression valve off of a 1/2-in copper pipe. Got a tip to buy this from a YouTube video explaining the proper way to remove an old compression water shut off valve. Most of the other YouTube videos addressing this issue (including some from the major replacement valve manufacturers!) erroneously claimed the proper way to replace an old valve involves cutting pipe off which is absolutely insane when this little tool leaves your pipe at its original length and undamaged. Think about it: you may not have enough pipe left to put on a new valve if you make that cut and even if you do if you keep cutting that pipe off over the years you're going to run out of pipe and then you'll incur a major expense for a plumber to replace the pipe! As far as ease of use no problems at all other than it took me a minute to figure out I had to turn the handle to pull the internal plunger back far enough before I could screw the old compression collar on but other than that very simple and easy to use. Saved me a lot of time and money. ... show more

  • It just works!Great tool!
I’m impress with this tool! Awesome and easy to remove the old compression rings and nuts.I used this to remove a compression sleeve on a 1/2 copper pipe that is in a tough spot to access. The valve that the sleeve was in was installed 18 years ago so it was stuck on there. I sprayed some Superzilla on the sleeve and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then I used this puller. The sleeve came off so easy that I thought the puller was not working - it was amazing how well this works. If you need to replace plumbing valves that are on with compression sleeves - use this tool and save yourself a whole lot of grief. ... show more

  • Compression Sleeve Puller
The first time I found myself in need of this instrument was when I was trying to repair a supply stop valve in my bathroom that had become rusted. My efforts to remove the compression sleeve using traditional methods were unsuccessful since it was stuck in place and would not come off. As I struggled for hours and suffered many bruises on my knuckles, I realized that I needed a more effective approach. Making use of the gadget was a cakewalk. In a matter of minutes, I was able to place it appropriately and put it onto the compression sleeve that was proving to be difficult to use. Simply by turning the handle a few times, I was able to feel the sleeve gradually but definitely give way, and it ultimately came off with relative ease. I was finally able to do something that had seemed impossible to do in the past, and the feeling of accomplishment and relief that I had was real. ... show more

  • Top Notch.Basic tool makes removing compression rings easy.
This was perfect, Especially helpful when you have a toilet shut off valve coming up from the floor next to the wall and pipes in the way under the sink. I can’t speak about longevity yet but if you clean it off after use it should last a really long time. I struggled for 3hrs was un able to get the piece of the pipe. I ordered this item in the morning for same day delivery received it and was done with the job literally in 10min. Great tool will keep it on top of tool box for future use. ... show more

  • This product really works.
Before I used it, I put a drop of oil on the outlet side of the ferrule to help it slide off. Having used the tool, I don't think that the oil was necessary. I originally thought that this puller was made to pull the ferrule off, so I hooked it on the pipe between the ferrule and the nut. That was my mistake. The tool will not work this way. It is made to apply pressure to the back side of the nut which will pull the ferrule off. That is a good design. ... show more

  • Ok for a few uses
I purchased this to remove and replace the compression nuts in my house. I had about 20 to replace. After the master bathroom, the bar that you turn to screw the plunger in bent. There are others on here that I will try. This tool is not easy to use. If I was a first time DIY person, I would have been in a pickle. I just thought it would be easier than the traditional way of removing ferrules. ... show more

  • Make your life easier!
Simple enough tool that did what it's supposed to do. I used it to remove an olive on the hot water line under the kitchen sink. It did the trick. Very beefy tool, not flimsy junk like you sometimes get. at least I have to get the right tools. So I did and could not been any happier. As for the 15 minutes job, took me about 2 hours because I broke one valve and went 3 times to home depot to get the right stuff. ... show more

  • Works efficiently. Great tool.
This tool makes it so easy to replace a 1/2" compression nut and ferrule. This tool is the perfect solution because it allows you to pull the ferrule off the pipe and reuse the same pipe for a new fitting. It’s well made and seems durable thus far.it's cheap and saves a lot time.
