This is a high quality product and a really great potting medium. The fact that it comes in a dehydrated brick means there's no possibility of pest contamination. One thing to note is that this creates a somewhat dense potting soil; I suggest cutting it (after rehydrating) with perlite and/or vermiculite to lighten it and improve aeration. This was easy to use and spread. You just need to soak long enough as the brick comes pretty compacted. I soaked mine in a 5 gallon bucket with hot water overnight and used it the next day

Worked well both in my garden plans and in the mushroom patch. It is a lot of coir if you plan on small projects and it difficult to break apart without tools.

I’ve spent the last week focusing on repotting all of my houseplants. Also dividing, propagating most of the plants. Love the “Brick”, needs little space to store. Takes exactly 1 gallon per Brick. Nice and moist, no need to water when done. Perhaps in a few days check on plant to see if it needs water, based on type of plant, where you live and season. Will be buying more ... show more

Added this to my potting soil. Seeds definitely started faster than with plain soil. Holds moisture which will be a god send when the hot, southern summer kicks in.
