The ice maker is really easy to use, the most important part of it is that it makes ice even when its really hot. The design in general is quite interesting but the process of building the cubes works great, after a few hours the whole chamber was filled with ice. It comes with a blue light that after a while it gets annoying, but don't worry it can be turned off. Setting it up was a breeze, just connect the water supply (I have a water filter) and the water disposal to your drain, plug it in and you are set. Initially give it a few hours, because it needs to adjust and climatize the chamber so ice can be produced. Initially I got one and it was defective, I took more than 30 days to return it so it was out of Amazon's 30 day guarantee but working w/ the merchant I was able to get it replaced. In general great service and a good ice maker, so if you are looking for one, this is for you. ... show more

Installed in just a few minutes. Started it up and unit did not make ice at first. Contacted Tina at customer service and she carefully walked me thru how the machine worked and had me take videos. When taking the videos I noticed water from the basin tank going behind the basin not into the basin as it should. Took the basin out and applied silicon behind the basin. Reinstalled the basin tank and everything started working and making lots of ice. You see if the water doesn't go into the basin tank it can't get cold enough to freeze. Has been making lots and lots of ice since. What I like most about this machine is that it makes a bin full of ice and then goes idle until it needs to make more i.e. doesn't run all the time. To start I received the ice machine and had it installed as part of an outdoor kitchen by a plumber. It worked great first few weeks. Came home one night to water pouring out of the back. Opened it up and found the internal water line burst. I easily replaced it with 1\4 OD and restarted. It would not run. I emailed customer support and they responded immediately. He walked me through doing a reset on the board which didnt work. Then said he would send a brand new board. The board arrived shortly after and I changed it out. He checked back with me and I informed him it was working but now was simply not shutting off. I do want to add even when sending me the board they stated they would give me half my purchase price back for my troubles. At this point he informed me they would send me a brand new unit which they now said has a better water line. A week later it arrived as promised and yes the water line was of better quality and integrity. I know thier is some bad in here for the machine failing. I think yes the original line bursting just caused a succession of issues. What I do want to attest to is this seller STANDS by thier product with responsive support and resolution! Could not have been more pleased with thier timely responses and troubleshooting. Eventually they simply replaced it completely. No argument and no questions asked. That is A+ in my book. Sometimes things just go wrong. When someone actually supports what they sold, helps you troubleshoot and in the end makes it right that is a product you want to buy. So far replacement machine is working great and is everything I expected it to be. I rarely ever write a review but in this case I felt I needed to convey that this seller went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with thier product and solving the issue that happened. Edit: After posting this review, the seller has contacted me repeatedly via text, voice, and email with offers of a free-standing icemaker at no cost, along with a full refund on this product, with an understanding that I'll delete this review. Customer service after this review was posted has been very good and while I appreciate the free ice maker, it doesn't change this product's review. I now question any reviews on Amazon, since it appears that unseen negative reviews might have been quickly bribed away. Original Review: It makes ice fairly quick but if you specify that the ice should be thicker, when it falls out of the ice maker try, it fails to break up and remains in the holding tray as one big sheet of ice cubes instead of individual cubes. You'll need to keep a club or hammer handy to break up the ice sheets into individual cubes. If you specify thinner ice, it will break up when it leaves the ice maker tray, but it is so thin, it starts melting almost immediately and is laughable to put in a drink or ice chest. The machine is not insulated, so the ice begins to melt as soon as it is made and the water drains out of a hose on the back bottom of the unit. You'll need to connect this hose to a drain line or set it by a floor drain. This is not optional. And of course, they used the cheapest glue possible to connect the hose to the bottom of the ice holding area (see picture), so it leaks badly and has the potential to flood your nice hardwood floor or your downstairs neighbor. Can't trust it when you go out of town. It also had lots of water leaking out from the bottom of the ice maker. It wasn't from the water supply line or the drain line (which also leaked, as stated above). The water is from the copper compressor lines running in the back of the ice maker, from the condenser to the compressor. The lines freeze over and melt constantly as ice is being made. There is nowhere for the condensation to drain to, other than on the floor under the Ice Maker, and this was unacceptable in my 5th floor apartment, since it will eventually soak through the floor and damage the apartment under me. I tried putting insulation around the copper lines, but they eventually soak and leak the water to the bottom of the unit and onto the floor. The video shows the water, and my effort at insulating the lines to stop the condensation. I could not convince the customer service people that the water wasn't just from the drain line, which appears to be a known problem. I was three weeks past the return date (due to installation labor issues), and while Amazon did take it back, it was prorated steeply. I'd advise staying away from this machine and all the ones like it (under different brands, but I suspect they are all the same poor quality). I removed a Kenmore Icemaker that worked great for 20 years and that didn't need a drain line at all, and replaced it with this cheaply made product that was defective on day one. ... show more

This ice maker makes ice very quickly and is simple to setup. I ran into an issue with ice storage, but as everyone else stated the customer service is top notch. Tina responded quickly and continued to follow up until my issue was resolved.
