I’ve used this mic with my Canon T7I and my iPhone X for a few days and man, am I blown away! You do get a lot for money. It’s a front facing cardioid pattern shotgun mic. A cardioid mic is heart shaped and is great for picking up sound right in front of it. Background noise is reduced and speech and vocals really do pick up very well with a this mic - as long as you or the subject is in front of it. If you are a blogger, this would be great as it reduces some of the background noises. I’ve had no problems with interference with my phone and camera. If I had more equipment, I would have tested it on them. But as far as my iPhone X and my T7I, it sounds great. It comes with its own shock mount. The mount, I have to say feels little toy-like. Like it’s going to break if you handle it roughly. Other than that, the mount does its job. The case it comes with works great and really protects the mic. The mic itself is well built (all metal) and feels good in the hands. The included windscreen and wind muff (dead cat) does what it’s supposed to do. The windscreen is great for indoor shots and it really eliminates the pops from “P’s” and “B’s”. The wind muff works well in low wind, but in very high winds, you can still pick up the wind noise (this also applies to some of the expensive mics/wind muffs too.) It comes with both a 3.5mm cable for your smartphone and for your traditional camera/camcorder like my Canon T7i. The only real gripe I have is, it has no power source of its own (no batteries). So it draws power from you camera or phone. Which is good and bad. It’s good because you don’t have to carry extra batteries around and reduces the weight of your whole set up. It’s bad because your camera/phone loses battery power just a bit quicker. Lastly, I really love how small this mic is. Again, for the money, you get a lot. ... show more

I use my phone to record videos for Karaoke shows and the built in mic picked up so much bar noise it was crazy. Added this mic to my phone and pointed towards the speakers and wow what a difference. Great sound even when I am 20 feet away from the PA (learned not to be too close and to adjust the gain down to 50%). Love the fact they include a nice case to keep everything in. Feels well made, and will be in my regular kit for shows from now on. Great value, worth the price if you want to have good sound on your video and not a lot of background noise. ... show more

I use this with both my DSLR and my GoPro and it does everything it should. Great mic. Only issue I have had was the "inside" sleeve of the dead cat came unglued and came out....but I have been able to use it, just wish it hadn't came apart.

This microphone has worked very well so far to allow me to record videos for an online class that I teach (indoor recording). This microphone is a big improvement over my camera mic (nikon d5600) and my computer audio. Comes with a sturdy box to pack it into. The mount is rather hard to push on and take off the mic, so be prepared to want to keep it on most of the time (rather than unpacking it and putting it into the case frequently). I use my camera as a webcam ....I use SparkoCam for the camera to be recognized as a webcam and then I plug the mic into my computer. I had to purchase a longer audio cable to plug into my computer while still mounted to the camera because the cable that comes with it is very short (which is understandable). It is not top studio quality, as to be expected, but I am happy with the quality it delivers. FYI: I am having a lot of issues with the Windows Creator Fall update ...meaning that suddenly my mic is not being recognized as an external mic on my computer, nor can I install the RealTek driver. I'm having to roll back the update to one previously because this has been a frustrating issue. Good luck to anyone else dealing with Windows 10 updates... ... show more

Some of the wires doesn’t work with the mic and also it sounds very loud even when it’s all the way down. After I switch the buttons the sound just turns off. This is the worse mic ever.:(

As for many of you content creators already know that a video with no good sound quality can be a bit boring and not fun to watch But with this Comica CVM-VM10II is a great shotgun microphone that works really well with either your DSLR Camera or your smart phone, will help improve your video audio/voice quality and make your videos sound more professional and fun to watch. It has a great crisp sound quality and does a great job at canceling out unwanted noise in the background and especially with the wind blocker(dead cat) it makes a big difference if shooting outside in a strong wind. It is a great mic for vlog, close up interviews or even for a studio set up. I’m going to have to be honest, I found more Pro's than Con's for this Comica CVM-VM10II mic.. Pros: 1. Ability to have a stereo to smartphone cord and a stereo to a camera cord. 2. An audio jack splicer to use it which to compare with a Rode mic, it doesn't include but the Comica CVM-VM10 does. 3. Powered on by the Device. It Automatically powers up once connected on a DSLR camera or a smart phone. This is really helpful not worrying about switching batteries or even charging the mic. 4. It is small and light weight for those of you who like to vlog and not carrying around a big mic. 5. Both for smart phone and DSLR Cons: 1. Honestly I could not find any cons on this mic. I loved everything on it. I highly recommend this VideoMic to anyone looking for great Audio on a budget without breaking the bank. It is honestly less money but amazing quality that comes out from the mic is unbeatable. You will not regret it! ... show more
