  • Excellent Microphone - A lot of value!
Color: CVM-V30 PRO R
I am very impressed with this microphone. This is one of those products that makes you question value vs price on much higher priced professional grade microphones. This is a great package and a great tool for my YouTube channel. I want to start with two minor elements that could be improved in the design. From a cable management standpoint, the cable easily gets on the way of side flip screens. Of course this depends on the camera design but they could have used a 90 degree connector and a stiffer or shorter cable setup to help keep the cable away from the flip screen. Second, I did not like the fact that it uses 2 batteries. There are a lot of positives about this microphone. First of all, the sound quality is excellent. I found the sensitivity to be more than adequate. It is also nice that you get a few settings that can be customized. There is a low cut filter that can be turned on when recording in noisy environments and the sensitivity can be adjusted as well. The shock absorbing mount works great and everything seems to stay in place securely. There is even a windscreen included in case you are recording outdoors under windy conditions. This microphone provides a lot of value at this price point and I am happy with it so far. I would give it 4.5 stars for the reasons mentioned above. I do think it is worth every penny. ... show more

  • Great value and excellent sound
Color: CVM-V30 PRO R
The media could not be loaded. I have to say, I was a little surprised with how good the sound quality it with this shotgun microphone. It is excellent. I primarily use this microphone with my mirrorless camera in a studio setting, so the camera is usually about 3-4 feet from my face. The build quality is adequate and I especially like the shock mount system and how it is in a contrasting color (I have it in red but it is also available in black). I used this microphone to replace a smaller (popular brand) microphone, and I won't switch back. The sound quality is even better! If you're looking for a shotgun microphone, you owe it to yourself to try the Comica V30-Pro. You won't be disappointed. The wind muff (dead cat) takes a bit of maneuvering to fit on the microphone, but that is because it fits over the entire microphone and shock mount. When it's on it fits well and cuts the wind noise. ... show more

  • Soeaker
Color: CVM-V30 PRO R
It worked well and picked up all sounds. The only thing I didn’t like is that it record the sound of me holding the camera and when I was adjusting. Ut.

  • Great shotgun mic with universal shoe Mount and wind muff
Color: CVM-V30 PRO R
I'm going to start my review with a qualifier saying that I really enjoy amateur video work but this is the first shotgun microphone I've used. We were at a family reunions and I was excited to use it during a meeting where my grandfather and others shared memories of their parents. I thought it would be great for capturing their noise but not the noise of all the kids. There are two things I realize I did wrong. One, I was too far away from the person speaking. Two, I was not aimed directly at them. That being said, the sound quality is great I just wish there was more of my grandfather's voice and less of the kids on the swings. My situation was also not ideal because there was a building and mountain cliffs helping to echo the sound of the kids playing. Now let me get onto my review. I love the red spring, whatever you call it, that helps avoid movement noise. So much smarter than the little rubber bands that snap and never work that well in the first place! I love the wind Moss. That did get tried in very windy conditions and even though I picked up some kids playing I didn't get any wind noise! I love the universal shoe mount that you can also put on a tripod. the sound quality is great even though the cancellation didn't work as well as I hoped, but I now realize the circumstances weren't perfect. The only other downside is that it uses a three-prong TRS 3.5 mm audio jack, and the camera I use most often, the Sony a6000, doesn't have a microphone in. I would use it with my smartphone but I need a converter to trrs 4 prong. However, most DSLR cameras that have a microphone in Jack will fit this trrs 3-prong audio jack. Great product! I'm really impressed. ... show more

  • Comically large, cheap build - but ok for the money
Color: CVM-V30 PRO R
Build - It's comically large, especially with the deadcat (which by the way, is a clumsy process to install/remove). About 3/4 of the protruding barrel of the mic is just open-ended plastic tubing... They could have made it a lot smaller, but they didn't. The mount is plastic, but seemed to have decent flex. The wire is a big issue as it's built in, straight cable (not stretchable) and it cannot be replaced. The plastic battery door is clumsy and hard to remove. Sound - Sound quality is pretty good, but with the deadcat the sound is much more muffled than my other mics. On the other hand, the wind-reduction is great as almost no wind noise gets through. Overall - Way too large for my setup, which is why I returned. Using any wide angle lenses would show the deadcat in the top portion of the screen. Build quality is cheap, but audio quality is pretty good. Not a big fan overall, but I don't hate it. 3/5 ... show more
