  • Fairly easy to use
This kit allows you to test at home with no mail-in or waiting. It contains two tests. Be sure to read instructions which tell you to use NO aspirin or blood thinners for a week prior to testing. My husband was using aspirin but wanted to test right away, as he had specific symptoms. Sure enough, the test was positive. He stopped the aspirin for a week, then took the second test. It was still positive. Because his other symptoms had resolved, he's waiting for his annual visit to gastroenterologist and will inform doctor of these tests at that time. His doctor will likely order a colonoscopy, since it's been 3 years and he has recurring polyps. As such, buyers of this kit should use reasonable judgement before jumping to dire conclusions about meaning of test results. ... show more

  • Great for hypochondria!
I’ll be blunt: I’m a hypochondriac. My latest fixation is colon cancer due to the increasing rates of diagnosis in younger adults. I’m not old enough for regular colonoscopies, nor do I have any health markers that qualify me for colonoscopies at my age. Plus I’m not going to go through the bowel prep unless my doctor tells me that it’s time for a colonoscopy. This kit does my brain a world of good through the reassurance of a simple fecal test. My husband and I plan to do one each year until we start regular colonoscopies. We still see our GI doctors annually, take psyllium capsules daily to per our doctor’s recommendation, we drink lots of water, and we work fiber into our diets regularly to reduce our risk of colon cancer. Even if this kit provides a false sense of security, we’re being proactive enough in our daily wellbeing that we’ll recognize them if any red flags arise in the future. It’s just nice to have some sort of tangible “security blanket” to help me combat my anxious thoughts whenever my hypochondria hits. You really can’t put a price on peace of mind. ... show more

  • Great for early detection
After noticing some concerning symptoms, I decided to order this test just for peace of mind. I ended up testing positive so I'll be talking to my doctor about it. The test is fairly easy to use, though the papers are a little thin. The concept isn't that hard to understand, so just find a better alternative if the collection tools aren't working for you. I was overall happy with this test, but I do wish the readout didn't take so long to update. Still, it's a good tool for early detection. ... show more

  • Worthless test
The kit had 2 vials with solution to drop in collection tube. Vials were dried up. No customer service options to have manufacturer correct problem. With such poor quality control, I worry about accuracy of test results. The only way to know about accuracy is to test against a "gold standard". Without that you have to rely on the reputation on the manufacturer. With no available customer service either through the manufacturer or Amazon, that would appear to be very poor. ... show more

  • One vial dried up with no buffering solution
I ordered a 2-pack kit. One of the vials had no buffering solution. It had dried up. I used the good vial for a test, and it worked fine. I'm disappointed in the faulty vial.

  • Simple enough!
My husband is at the age where they tell you to get a colonoscopy but he doesn’t want to, so I suggested we do this at home test first and if it’s positive we have one. I ordered the 2 pack just to be on the safe side. You just tape the paper under the commode seat like a hammock. Then you twist off the blue cap end on the vial and poke your stool in 6 different spots. Place the tip back in the vial and screw it on tightly, shake and then turn it over to the red cap side. Open the foil pack and pull out the test device, open the red cap end and squirt 3 drops of this solution in the hole where it shows drops. Then you wait 10 minutes. I guess we will wait a few days and do the second test. There is a faint line on the bottom and the kit shows if there is a faint second line then it is positive. I guess if the next one does the same we will be going to the doctor whether he wants to or not. This is a very simple test to do though. It is especially good for those that do not want to get a colonoscopy. ... show more

  • It gives immediate answers
I have been paranoid so I take this test and since I can’t get an appointment until 3 months out, I will check it upon myself. I have a super faint line so I can’t see the blood in my stool but good enough for me to talk to my doctor. I messaged her now I hope she answers back. I took one test the first night and it gave me a faint line and the next morning which gave me an even more faint line. Either way both are positive to presence of occult blood and a way for you to skip the initial testing of colonoscopy. ... show more
