I purchased this leather collar to replace my cat's kitten collar when he outgrew it. It's been months and it's still in great shape and has plenty of space for him to continue growing. Plus, it's never slipped off or come undone! Other collars meant for cats have the little plastic clip that's easily pulled apart, but this Collar Direct collar has an actual metal buckle that holds up incredibly well. The attached bell is a nice touch, since my cat is indoors it's just for the cuteness lol. The collar still has the safety elastic, in case of accidents, which I really appreciate. This is the 4th collar I bought for Mister, the stray cat I recently adopted, and the first one that didn't make his life a misery. Most collars have sharp edges and are made out of polyesters. The previous expensive leather collar I bought was stiff with sharp edges and even after I washed it, terrified my cat, I think because of the smells of whatever they used to process it. This collar has buttery-soft leather that is intelligently sewn so that there are no sharp edges. It also has a loop to keep excess length from becoming a danger to the cat. I took off the bell, as nobody wants to hear a jingle with every step they take for the rest of their lives. Mister loves the collar. One thing to be aware of is that the "safe escape" bit of elastic stretches out over time, so that the collar becomes looser (and may need more holes punched in it so it can be tightened more) and needs to be monitored to make sure the elastic is still stretchy enough for safe escape if needed. ... show more

I got this collar a few months ago for my indoor-outdoor cat, who ditches clip-based safety collars like Houdini ditches handcuffs. This elastic safety collar is perfect for him! He hasn't removed it even once, but the elastic is stretchy enough that I know he could easily escape it if it got caught on something. The color is beautiful and the quality of the leather is nice. I think the design needs a bit of tweaking. The rivet joining the elastic to the leather is fantastic and has held without issue. Unfortunately, the end where the buckle is (where the elastic band is fastened to itself) frayed and eventually broke. Perhaps another rivet on that end would improve the durability? ... show more

Really great color options! I bought the size recommended based on neck measurements and trimmed off the excess length I didn't need and still able to tuck the end into the metal slide.
