  • Get this right now!!!!
Size: 4+ Capacity (Forest Green)
If you’re looking through reviews, then you’re considering getting this hot tub and you definitely need to. Set up, maybe 30 minutes on the tub itself and that was with the terrible picture instructions that came with it. Safe yourself some time and go to the YouTube video those same instructions recommended doing, but I didn’t see until much later. The pump serves as both an air pump and the tub pump, you’ll need nothing else when it comes to set up. Filling it with water took maybe 30 minutes as well. The heating of the water will take significantly longer, depending on your outside temps and how hot you want it. I turned mine to 104, and it took a little over 24 hrs, but well worth the wait. Now that it’s quite warmer during the days, I turn the pump off at night and turn it back on in the morning when I wake up to make sure it’s warm by the time I want to get in. I did buy a mat to put my tub on top of, I recommend that so the tub isn’t sitting directly on the surface you’re planning on putting it on, mine is concrete, but not necessary. Tub comes with a lid, which is brilliant and easy to use. The bubbles are more powerful than I expected, the bubbles come from the bottom of the tub, around the outside, there are no jets, just FYI. The tub itself can fit up to 4 adults, just make sure you really like those other people because it will be tight. 2-3 adults would be a more comfortable fit. The bottom of the tub is not padded, but it’s not uncomfortable. I did buy a pillow to sit on but it’s not necessary. As far as chemicals, somebody else recommended SpaGuard Enhanced Shock for Spas & Hot Tubs, this is the only chemical I’m using because it contains chlorine and that’s really the only thing I’m concerned with, it’s also the best chemical for the soft liner. I check the water every other day with test strips and add as needed. I clean my filter once a week, by hand, other reviews recommend other ways to clean the filter but I don’t find it difficult to clean it in my sink by hand. Definitely clean your filter weekly, even if you don’t use it every day. You’ll save money on replacement filters in the long run. Overall, this is the best purchase I’ve made, besides my Camaro, EVER, highly recommend!!!! ... show more

  • Surprisingly Awesome Spa
Size: 4+ Capacity (Forest Green)
So, I wasn't really expecting a great deal out of this product - seriously, an INFLATABLE spa?!?!? How good is this thing going to be, really? Well, it's AWESOME. Hands down, the coolest thing I've bought for less than $500. My observations: Seats 4 people? I'm going to disagree on that one. If the 4 adults are average to smaller people, and you are SUPER comfortable with bumping legs with them, then you're good. I would say 3 adults or 2 adults and a very active toddler at most are a good fit. I am 5'5", and I can stretch out from one side to the other and barely reach the side with my feet. My husband is 6'5", and if he wants to lay on his back and stretch out completely, he has to put his feet outside of the tub and rest them on the side. There is tons of room in this spa, and most folks will enjoy sitting and stretching their legs out in front of them with no problem, even for the giants among us :-) Seating within the tub? Not a problem, the bottom of the spa is very comfy and a great place to rest your tush - shorter people (me) may find they bob a bit - but, it hasn't been a problem for me. Heating of the spa? It has a compact unit (the green egg-looking thing) that controls the heating, water pumping for filtration, and the bubbles. It can be set for a maximum of 104 degrees - and trust me, that is warm. Here's the rub - maintenance of the temperature of your spa is affected by the ambient temperature of the air around the motor air intake, as the motor pulls in air directly from the environment and feeds it into the spa where it comes out of a ring with holes located around the bottom of the spa floor. The bubbles are fabulous - very relaxing and soothing, but if it's a bit cooler in your environment, you will discover your spa getting a bit cooler also. It hasn't been a huge problem for us, even when it's been very chilly, we get in when it's 104, and by the time the temp has gotten down to 100, we're usually ready to get out anyway. Keeping it clean? It comes with an inflatable cover that snaps onto the spa, and keeps 99.9% of stuff such as leaves, etc. out of the spa. We took off the cover yesterday, and a June bug had worked its way in, and promptly drowned (stupid June bug....), but, that's been the only critter situation we've experienced since we installed it. We have been using bromine tabs in a floating dispenser, clarifying chemicals especially for spas to keep the water clean and clear, and a small net to scoop out the occasional pieces of grass. We haven't had a problem with keeping it clean and perfect for a soak. How long did it take to set up? Including filling it, maybe 30 minutes - 45 at the most. The instructions were easy to interpret and there are videos and such on the web if you need them. My main recommendation on set-up is to be really sure you've placed it where you want it before you put water in it. When bodies get in it, water often sloshes over the side - be sure that's not going to be a problem for you. Also, we put the pump/motor on the side closest to the outlet, but, when we empty it and clean it, we're going to relocate the pump/motor to another outlet on the other side of the unit. For us, we are forced to step over the hoses to go into the sliding glass door of the bedroom. Also, be sure that you're unit is positioned bully on the mat that comes with it, ours is off just a smidge. None of this is a big deal for us, just things to consider when you're setting up your unit. How long does it take for the water to heat-up? A while. I saw a post from someone else who said he rigged up his water hose to the hot water faucet in his house - that's ingenious, and will most definitely cut down on the waiting time. I wasn't that ambitious and just filled it from the outdoor faucet. It took overnight to come up to temperature. Know that most likely you won't enjoy your first soak until Day 2 - but, trust me, the wait will be worth it!! :-) What is the cost of the power to run the spa? This is our first full month of using the unit. Most of the time we've left both the filtering pump and heating features on 24/7. There is a way to "program" the heater to come on when you want it (in hours), I tried this twice. the first time it worked great, the 2nd time I mistakenly reversed the setting and was totally bummed when the spa wasn't heated in the evening. Then we tried turning it off at night, and just turning it back on in the morning. Yeah, as you can imagine, most of the time I remembered to turn on the spa when I was pulling into the parking lot at work. Once again, total disappointment when you know you won't get your relaxing soak. So, we've just let it pretty much run for the past 3 weeks or so, and we did see a bump in our utility bill of about $100. I can't say that the spa is the only reason for the increase - it's been warmer in my parts, and we've been running the A/C cooler and more often. Just know that it does use electricity, and the cost will be commensurate with that use. One day we hope to have a bigger, more traditional spa, but in the meantime, this little gem has been a complete winner!! ... show more
