  • Great Purchase!
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 30°f
Loved this sleeping bag. It was about 45 degrees outside at night in Flagstaff Arizona in this sleeping bag on a cot. The sleeping bag was comfortably warm. My face on the other hand was quite cold. In a tent I was perfectly comfortable. So just the sleeping bag itself was snug and comfy, great purchase. (Good luck squeezing it back into the pouch that it comes with, (that was some work!) ... show more

  • Feels like good value.
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 30°f
Dec. 2020. First impressions. Compared to Amazon Basics sleeping bag. This Coleman, rectangular, cold weather Sleeping bag is definitely better quality than the Amazon Basics version. My main issue with the Amazon Basics version was the low quality of the zipper. The Coleman bag has a much better quality zipper, plus a special device on it that claims 'snag free' operation. I will have to use it on a real camping trip to vouch for that specific device. But I can tell already it's going to work better. The outer lining (very dark blue color) also seems to be of a slightly thicker material than the Amazon Basics. Although it does not seem to be real 'rip-stop' material (which would give me much more confidence for long lasting durability). The inner lining (creme colored), is very soft. The overall weight is quite light (compared to the old school canvas versions of these types of bags). Once rolled up and shoved into its 'compression sack', it is a bit bulky. But for car camping its fine. The sleeping bag has this odd string / thin rope system permanently attached to it, that is designed to tie the sleeping bag in place once it is rolled up, so it will stay in place before you insert it into the compression sack. I find that system a bit strange and seems prone to put a lot of pressure on 3 small points on the feet end of the bag, when tying it up. I have a feeling this may be a weak link in the design. Time will tell. Other bags have elastic straps sewn in place. Or heavier nylon straps with compression buckles. But a nice feature the bag has are two loops and buttons that will keep the bag folded in half when rolling it, so that it rolls evenly. A small but helpful detail. The 'Compression' Sack is not compressible at all, once I rolled up the bag for storage. The compression system is a zipper. Similar to how travel luggage has that expansion zipper system. But the bag barely fits in the sack once it is rolled, so the zipper is impractical (possibly breakable) to close at that point. I find it very helpful for sleeping bag sacks to compress, so they take up less space and become firmer during travel. No luck here. But at least with some effort, the bag does fit in the sack, which has a pull string, and a handle and the info / specs of the sleeping bag stitched or printed on it. One feature I wanted to try out was the ability to zip 2 sleeping bags together to make one double sized (2 person) bag. I tried it. It works so so. It will work, but it feels like I am forcing the zippers along the way. They don't close the bag nice and smoothly, like when it's a single bag. It takes much longer than normal. And the zippers kind of skip a notch every so often. So I would not call it a totally tight zip. Possibly would start to open up if there is a bit too much pressure on them by say, someone turning in their sleep within the bag. To be tested... I would call it an half feature, that Coleman did not specifically design for, but doable in a pinch. At least with my 2 bags. I will update this review once I have used the bag in real world conditions. This was a purchase I made after returning the Amazon Basics bag because the zipper broke on it within 4 nights of using it camping. This Coleman one already feels like it will pass that test well. Now to find out if it does well in cold temps. But by the feel of it, I think it will do just as well or better than the Amazon Basics. At the Sale price i bought it, it is a very good value. Update. After 1 night using 1 bag in the open blanket mode, it felt much warmer than my normal duvet cover, when sleeping in my bed at home. Not exactly a camping test, but glad to know it will be a good extra blanket for guests, or a super cold night at home. ... show more

  • Simple little bag that doubles as a good comforter

Bought this to use in a motorhome during the winter - keeps me warm and is a good value for the price.

  • Fantastic!
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 20°f
I'm not a sleeping bag connoisseur by any means, but I do get a certain amount of joy from having a good sleeping bag. This fits the bill. It's comfy, light, and slightly more compact than my cotton outer shell bags. The downside with having a polyester outer shell is that it's more slippery, and it might be hard to stay in place on sleeping pads. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase, and I'm glad I got two! ... show more

  • Used & Abused for 5+ years! 😆 Washed a million times too!
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 30°f
Oh man... so, I don’t really like to give anything a 5* rating but there is no choice for 4.5* or 4.8* 😆 Seriously though... this thing has been used and abused for YEARS!!! It was intact until just the other night when my 17 year old decided to use all his might to tear it open by pulling without unzipping, so, before I could get a word in... the zipper broke! 😑 I bought this sleeping bag for a 5th grade camping field trip I was chaperoning for my daughter’s class 5 years ago. We haven’t taken it camping as much as I’d like but we have used it many times in the house for sleepovers and such. One year, we pretty much used it on a daily basis as a warm, thick comforter for Chicago winters! We’ve taken it on picnic trips, soccer games (to keep warm), for sleeping on the trampoline, sleeping under dining room table-turned-fort, hotels, sleepovers at grandma’s & many sleepovers at our house. (Too many to count) This thing has been washed & dried a million times! We recently took it for a 10-night family gathering at a beach house where I washed it daily since it got wet on the boat (it was cold every day) & stunk of camp fire smoke we enjoyed nightly! Even though the zipper broke, thanks to my super strong teenage son, I will continue to use it with or without a zipper & will buy a new one! It is super thick and comfy; it feels like a luxury comforter & I personally love the navy blue color. You can’t go wrong with this sleeping bag. Perfect for adults and kids alike. Unless your 5’11 or taller. My son is 5’10 ,150lbs & fine for him & I’m 5’4 but overweight by a lot, unfortunately. I don’t like mummy bags, I feel like I’m being choked to death! A friend who is 5’10” & 210 lbs said it was snug on the sides a bit but still okay. I’ve read some people have trouble putting it into the carry bag... I’ve never had a problem. I was lazy this last time and decided to shove it in the bag & it worked perfectly fine-no struggle! Other than the zipper, it still looks brand new! & no, we’re not super careful with it. It’s been used mainly by careless teens and tweens! 🤣 Kid Loved, Mother Approved! With Every Penny! No one paid me to write this (though I wish they did 😝) I purchased a total of 3 of these actually 2 blue & 1 green). Green one is a little different & a different story- zipper broke fast on that one but the blue ones just kept on going!!! Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Warm sleeping bag, shredded carry bag
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 30°f
I’ve used the bag twice in cold weather. It performs well, keeping you very comfortable. The texture of the bag’s interior is almost tacky. Leaves, twigs, string and lint stick to it. As other reviewers mention, it’s almost impossible to get the sleeping bag back into its carry bag. After the second attempt the bag shredded along the drawstring closure. I’ve filed a warranty claim after several attempts with Coleman and will update the review with their response.. ... show more
