I use it to grind coffee beans for my drip machine. Works great for that. It isn't too noisy. The size is small though so I grind around 3-4 tablespoon worth of coffee at a time.

Excellent product for the price. Grinds coffee as a grinder should. There is no ability to set ground coarseness, but that was expected. Unit is small, lightweight and looks good. Only slight annoyance with product is that the coffee bean vessel is compact so if a stronger coffee is preferred for your filter machine you may need to grind an individual spoon in addition to a full vessel. ... show more

    • It grinds coffee. It grinds other things as well. Just be wary of the potency of coffee esters.

Once you grind black you never go.... Works a treat as a coffee bean grinder, but make sure you don't grind anything else without giving it a very thorough cleaning with pure ethanol. As most of us coffee afficionado know: a good roasted coffee bean (good, not that supermarket trash people consider java) will leave esters and oils on a grinder that will effectively flavorize anything else you grind. This little raucous friend need some assistance while you use it. Close the lid and twist, then dance the Macarena while your grinding to get every bean pulverized down to a grind of your choice. If you decide it can grind some herbs for...activities...SO MANY ACTIVITIES...ensure you give it a clean with a splash of grain alcohol and even a drop of Dawn. You don't want to...caffeinate...you high quality seasonings.... ... show more

It grinds well. Almost too well as you can grind coffee into flour. For an entry level grinder the price is excellent. The downsides: It lacks capacity. 10 cup drip I think is pushing it if you like strong coffee. Putting the top on you have to match the lever with the insignia and it's a fumble. It could use matching arrows>-<. Coffee gets caught under the blade. Theres always some left stuck in there. Yes, thats normal for grinders like this (It comes with a useable brush). but theres alot and it never gets totally clean. If you're newbe to whole bean coffee, this is a workable grinder. If you're a veteran, you'll find the same frustrations. Pay more and go with Braun. Edit: To give credit where it's due, the company recently reached out to me to offer a full refund. ... show more
