While real avocado isn’t safe for your dog this avocado toy is. My King Charles cavalier loves it. I put his dental chews in the toy before going to bed and it takes him longer to finish it. My vizsla also enjoys to gnaw on it. It’s held up okay. A few pieces are missing but my Vizsla is a constant chewer. I would recommend to other dog owners who tend to only buy the harder toys so their dog doesn’t ingest it. Like all toys make sure you monitor and take away if it’s breaking apart. ... show more

I have a 45 lb destructive chewer, and she has left this intact. As a rescue we adopted 4 months ago, she is learning to be less aggressive with her toys. I am pleased that she has been using this appropriately. I figure all dogs should be supervised with any toy, especially new toys, and reinforced for good behavior, corrected for inappropriate behavior. Helps that she has a giant gentle bear of a brother who is super gentle with all toys, so she is learning from him. So on that note, so far so good (this could change at any time, haha). Cute small avocado sized toy. Has pockets for spreading soft foods (cream cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, veg or fruit puree, canned food, etc), and a center hole for holding treat sticks. I filled the indents with a squeeze treat product, pressed some crunchy treats in, then added a stick treat to the center nub. My girl loved it. FYI, the stick holder portion is tight. I was able to muscle in a typical dental stick. The indents are fairly shallow, but deep enough to hold plenty. All this good or bad depending on what you plan to use. Would be nice for filling with creamy foods then tossing in freezer. Makes for a longer lasting treat. As with any treat toy, just make sure they arent eating the toy itself! I dont think this needs to be carried around. I found that my girl enjoyed it in the spot I gave it to her. Other times she has carried it off. I'm considering buying one as a gift (thinking of Christmas already). ... show more

Our puppy isn't interested in this. She's 21 lbs and this is too heavy and awkward for her to carry around or chew, even though it says it's for small dogs too. She left it alone after a few minutes and hasn't touched it since. I weighed it and it's 7.8 oz, which is nearly half a pound. You can't put treats in the middle because it's too stiff for them to come out. You can only use those oddly shaped dental treats as shown in the product photo. I'd say this is more for medium or large dogs. If you have one of those this is solidly made and doesn't have any annoying squeaker or bell. ... show more
