The Silk Tropic Traveler long Sleeping Bag is a very comfortable and versatile bag. I recommend getting the long, even if its not needed. The extra length adds little weight, packs in nearly the same stuff bag and comes in handy and sheets that mate are in the long length. The compression stuff bag the Silk Tropic Traveler is packed into is high quality but a tight fit and takes more patients to stuff. I purchased a regular REI 8 x18 inch nylon stuff bag from REI. REI also has compression stuff bags in that size. For general use where compression is not needed for space saving, I prefer to use the 8 x 18 stuff bag. In any case, for storage, better to keep the Tropic Traveler in the larger stuff bag, so as not to compress the loft over a long period. The blue color is pleasing on the outside covering, which is not sewn through but separate from the bags higher loft insolation construction and offers better insolation than a sewn through bag and packs better. The smooth zipper opens the bag for use as a blanket; and opened, it can be mated with either the same additional bag or one of the sheets that have the same zipper opening system and size. The silk/cotton sheet is a good combination for this, though the other fabric combinations offered are okay too. This bag packs well, is light weight yet has good loft for warmth. The zippered silk/cotton sheet, is the same fabric as the bag interior, is very comfortable and packs small, the reason I purchased the silk/cotton after evaluating the bag interiors comfort. I also purchased a second bag that can be used as an additional blanket or zipped together with the other bag to make one wide bag for one or as a two person bag. The two bags together still pack well. As a single bag closed up, it would be nice to have another five inches in width, but it's okay for less weight folks, which I am at 6'2'', 185 lb. I purchased the first bag a year ago, followed up with the silk/cotton zippered sheet that mates with it. I have used the bag and sheet as a blanket covering over a 20 inch Therm-a-Rest 2 1/2 inch thick self inflating mattress, which I cover with a pillow case type sheet I sewed for it as a covering, but Therm-a Rest also offers coverings but my pillow case design is 12 inches more than the length of the mattress, is better and stays on. The mattress slips right in, just like a pillow case. This way, the sleeping bag can be very comfortable opened up with unrestricted room, used as a blanket and in very warm weather, the silk/cotton sheet can be used as a blanket the same way, without the bag, or the bag covering added as the night gets cooler. ... show more

These are great bags for warm temps. Extremely light with a nylon exterior and a soft silk/cotton inner lining. I use them in the house, on beds, as summer covers. Under the A/C at night, around 70 degrees, just about perfect.

I used this on my bed over the light blanket i had. it helped me get over the flu, didnt make me sweat as much as some other blankets. i like how its very small size for camping too. very soft outer nylon shell and the inside is soft and cottony. it is lightly stuffed for the purpose of being used in warm climates. ... show more

It's comfortable, sufficiently warm, and I like that it combines with Cocoon's travel sheet for added warmth or with another sleeping bag for couples;-) I recommend purchasing this and the travel sheet for use in all kinds of climates.
