We compared 4 dental floss brands: CocoFloss, Dr. Tungs, Silk Floss and Reach. We had used Reach for years and were basically happy with it, though it did tend to shred badly at times. However, after reading that almost all commercial brands of floss are made with PFAs (forever plastics), which ultimately end up in your blood stream and vital organs, we decided to switch to a brand that was PFA free, including CocoFloss, Dr. Tungs, and Silk Floss. Right out the gate, Silk Floss by SMARTLIFECO was a complete failure as many reviewers have noted. Unless you have gaps between every tooth in your mouth, Silk Floss will break at the slightest resistance. Useless. Dr. Tung’s Smart Floss is probably the best choice for most normal teeth. The container is flimsy paper, which though an environmental plus, is hard to pull from and falls apart when wet. This floss is similar to Reach but doesn’t shred as easily and has a nice feel, good performance and subtle cardamom flavor. CocoFloss is my personal favorite, though my wife could not use it because it was too thick for her. The floss is a pleasure to use and works for both large and tight gaps. It is robust, never shreds, unspools easily, and they claim the plastic container is re-useable (though I could not find a way to order refills). ... show more

I’ve tried every floss on the planet, and I have to say that Coco floss is pretty good. I wear a night guard and sometimes in the morning parts of my gums are swollen and this doesn’t happen with this coco floss, my gums are normal every morning 😁. It’s smooth and it easily glides through your teeth, especially mine that are very tight together. And because it slides so easily, you don’t have to tie it around your fingers so hard to where it hurts.     • My favorite floss of all time!

I cannot recommend this floss highly enough! I have more spacing between my teeth than the average person and have found regular floss just glides around without picking up much debris. I tested my regular Glide floss against the Coco floss and Coco won by a mile! That being said, my partner has very little spacing between his teeth and didn't enjoy this floss. He found it difficult to move it between his teeth and prefers the regular floss. So if you're like me and have more spacing, this is the floss for you! Onto some other aspects of the floss, the taste is fine. Not strong or unpleasant. I have found that sometimes I receive a spool that struggles to release the floss no matter how hard I pull. Easy fix though, the packaging pops open easily and you can reset the spool. This floss is an 11/10 for me and I cannot recommend enough! ... show more

A dental hygienist recommend this floss to me based on how my teeth are, and overall I really like it. I've never seen so much stuff come out from between my teeth. It is horribly fascinating. My teeth are very close together and prior to this I was using regular Oral B floss which moves stuff around, but doesn't really pull much out. Overall, this goes in between my tight teeth and expands in a way that works really well. However, if I have actual harder bits of food in between my teeth, the floss will get stuck on it and have to be pulled out sideways, sometimes shredding. At first, I thought it was getting caught on my dental work because I have a lot of crowns, but noticed sometimes it was fine and sometimes it wasn't. So it seems that a little piece of harder food combined with my teeth being so close together is enough to shred it and make floss removal difficult, and then I have bits of floss hanging around in my mouth which isn't great. I'm going to keep using it for a while, and will probably buy more since I've never had any floss clean so well, but it can get a little frustrating at times. ... show more

I bought this in December as I have ongoing gingivitis (immunocompromised in multiple ways). I work hard to floss and brush and have invested in my tooth care but I can’t seem to get rid of the gingivitis. I just had my 3 month periodontal maintenance visit and while still having issues, the hygienist and dentist said I had no plaque and that they were going to buy the cocofloss because of how good it works. This remarkable gloss gently removes tartar that regular floss can’t. It also removes some staining between teeth. After using it for several weeks, I’m glad I tried this product. It’s so effective that I hope it doesn’t harm tooth enamel (I’ll update this review after I go for regular dental checkup next month).     • Not great for people with tight contacts between teeth

I bought this floss on the recommendation of my dental hygienist, since I told her I tend to break every kind of floss I try, due to how close the contacts are between my teeth. This stuff is expensive, but I figured I'd try it anyway, since I get tired of mangling floss every time I use it (I floss twice a day). This floss is strong, but it's thick too, and it gets even thicker when you use it (it's one of the features of the product, in order to trap more gunk), which made it really difficult for me to use, because it gets stuck. I've managed to break this floss as well, and with how hard it is to get out from between my teeth, there have been a few times I've worried it would take a tooth with it. I'd rather use the Glide floss and deal with breaking that kind instead - at least it doesn't get stuck like this floss does. ... show more

I must say I am impressed. I feel like all my previous floss did not do their job. Every night I enjoy seeing that my new floss is really effective in removing everything that you can find between my teeth. Plus it last 2 months so in the end it is not that expensive for a top notch cleaning!
