This is a beautiful and sturdy rocking chair, but the seat is not soft. I have back issues, and the way it's shaped hurts my back. The pillow does not help. I use a standard bed pillow which does help. I decided not to return it, because I can use it with a bed pillow and it looks very nice in my bedroom. I like the bag that hangs off one arm rest.
