This is now on all three of our dogs and is a great harness. It works as promised in the car and easily allows a seat belt through. Also, it fits comfortably and is a bit challenging to fit properly to your dog's size but once the size it set, it is secure and also allows comfort. It is well made and lasts forever. I have replaced these perhaps twice in the past but not due to damage but just because they got so dirty. They can be washed but at some point it feels better to just get a clean new one. After one of my dogs flew from the backseat into the front passenger foot area at a sudden red light stop a few years back, I never let my dogs go in the car without seat belts secured through this harness. I had 2 poodles that i bought these for so that when i took them for a car ride they were in their car seats securely but could still see out and was happy with the ride. I also had a center car seat up front as one of my poodles just couldn't stand to be too far away from me and it worked very well, therefore i wasn't afraid of her getting injured either. One of my poodles recently passed away at 18 1/2 years old and am therefore getting another toy poodle in another couple of weeks. Have already bought another one, since she is smaller, for her.     • Car harness- yea- but difficult to put on and not good for walks.

I like that this harness is a car seat harness. It was a pain to find one that was actually made for a car. I recently became aware of the importance of having my dog strapped in properly with a car tested harness. In an accident if not restrained my dog can fly forward not just harming her but also potentially seriously harming me. If it so happens that my dog is still able to move, dogs are most likely to jump out of the car and run away in fear over what just happened. Without a harness and just using a collar, the collar can slip off or strangle and break my dogs neck. Harnesses that are not made for a car are highly likely to break at the buckles or rip at the seams, So finding a car tested and approved harness is important. Since I have not been in an accident I can not attest to its effectiveness but at the very least I don't have to worry about my dog jumping out of the car on her own. -My dog has a body type that does not fit into typical sizes very well. I got a medium in this one and it fits her and she still has a little room left. (In other harnesses, she barely fits into a medium and large doesn't fit her well.) -Because she likes to look out the window I purchased a strap that hooks onto the harness and buckles into the car buckle- rather than putting the car seatbelt through the hole, which works much better for her. -My 2 main complaints, the instructions are not that easy to figure out because of the way the harness is made. If not for the fact that I originally found this at a local store and had a sales associate assist me in putting it on her, I don't think I ever would have figured it out. Even now every time I put it on it takes me a few mins to figure it out. - Second, I wish there was more of a leash functionality to it. The leash hooks on the loop and it's quite awkward not just to walk my dog that way but to see her moving in it. I was hoping to have 1 harness, but it seems ill need a different one for walks. ... show more

have a pit bull that loves car rides and after a few times of hitting the brakes (due to idiot drivers) and seeing my poor dog go from being in the back of the van to right up next to me in a split second decided it was time to get her a seat belt......this one is very "user friendly" and soft as well......our dog has a big chest so it's nice that it's "cushioned" for her there.....the last one we had would leave red streaks on her chest........it keeps her right on the seat where you buckled her.......have to say $30 is pretty good price to spend to keep your dog safe in the car......liked this one so much we bought one for each vehicle so don't have to switch it back and forth in the cars.......fyi: we also bought a "paw rider seat belt adapter" to go with this car harness......the adapter gives her a bit more room to move around the van while still being buckled up......with the seat belt adapter she can either sit on the seat or lie on the floor of the van which we like.....but the adapter was a bit more expensive (in the company of dogs.com sells it for $50/best price i've seen)......invest in this car harness FOR YOUR DOG........ ... show more

Keeps him/her in their seat safe and secure! Unfortunately we have been in an accident with the dogs in the vehicle 🚗, thank God they were in there Easy Riders . All three dogs were just fine!!!

    • Wonderful product- Check the size though you are measuring for.

I ended up returning for a larger size. I mistakenly went by the measurements provided which SHOULD have fit my dog for a Medium. I measured my dog's body and would not clip. I love the item though and have used this brand and style before. Sturdy and comfortable and I feel he is secured enough incase I would need to pull back and I can grab him quick with the loop. Other brands have snapped due to my dog's strength and being on a leash. ... show more
