  • My plants are thriving!!
Size: 2 Pack
I lived next to a dairy farm as a child, then on abandoned farmland through my teen years. I've always gardened and had a compost pile. I can say enough decent things about Coast of Maine Tomato and Vegetable Compost Blend Potting Soil. This is fabulous soil for vegetables. Seriously excellent. It hold moisture well, yet drains well and is high in nutrients, as the growth on my plants has been visible and amazing. I can see my plants start to grow within days of being transferred to pots containing Coast of Maine. It is lightweight compared to other potting soil mixes, too. I had a fairly easy time dragging the bags around to the backyard. I just ordered two more bags... although I've tried a couple other soils, to be honest. This soil seems best with certain vegetables, like some heirloom tomatoes that need soil that drains better, yet it still has all the necessary nutrients to produce high yeilds. This is real farm soil from farmlands. And it seems like it has enough cedar or other organic aromatic wood material in it to keep unwanted insects from munching on my veggies. Wonderful!! ... show more

  • Growing like weeds
Size: 2 Pack
I received this potting soil on November 8th and transplanted seeds that I saved from small orange tomatoes and sugar apple, both were about 2 inches tall then. I knew I should have sterilized the soil, because now there are little flies in the house, can't grow things outside in Montana this time of year. Both the sugar apples and tomato plants are doing great and both are roughly 4 inches tall now. Some I use well water and some get filtered water, testing mostly since our well water tested positive for minute traces of pesticides. Certainly will purchase more when needed. ... show more

  • Cured my blossom-end rot
Size: 2 Pack
I’m an inexperienced gardener, and I was sure the problem was me somehow until I heard everything needed a magnesium supplement. I applied it too late, and we had an overly hot summer here in So. AZ, but as soon as I’d applied it to every fruit-bearing vegetable, my blossoms proliferated and produced well with no more end-rot. Very much worth it! ... show more

  • The best soil
Size: 2 Pack
My veggies and fruit absolutely love this soil. I've tried the big box soils but end up coming back to get more of this soil. It out performs all the others. Their customer service is excellent too.

  • Unwanted bonus
Size: 2 Pack
Had package in the house for a week- and lots and lots of gnats emerged from the box. I quickly brought the package outside - I haven’t even had a chance to check the contents yet…I’m currently dealing with getting rid of the gnats in the house

  • Mold
Size: 2 Pack
Got two bags, first one opened has mold growing in it and you could smell it right away. Going forward I’ll buy locally.
