  • Comfortable and Affordable No-Frills Earbuds.
Color: Orange
I recently lost my previous set of earphones, and while the battery had degraded over the past 5 years, they still did an outstanding job as my go-to pair. Luckily, I lost them around the holiday season, so I was able to pick up the CMF Buds from the NOTHING brand. I must say, I love these earphones. They’re a significant upgrade from my old pair, offering noise cancellation, solid battery life, and decent water resistance. Over the years, I’ve owned quite a few pairs of earphones and headphones, and these are among the most comfortable and well-fitting I’ve tried. In fact, just the other day, I had them in while working out at the gym. Afterward, I walked out, got into my car, and didn’t even realize I still had them in. Since my phone connects to the car stereo and paused the music, it wasn’t immediately obvious. I drove home and noticed how unusually quiet the drive was, only to realize I had been driving with the earphone noise cancelling the outside noise the entire time! As for sound quality, these buds are impressive for the price, especially since I picked them up during the holiday sale. I’m not an audiophile, but I do appreciate a good sound experience. They handle the genres I listen to—pop, rap, rock, and some electronic/techno—very well. While they might not blow you away like some higher-end models, they provide a satisfying listening experience. The bass is solid for earphones, and with the ultra-bass setting, it really enhances the low end. Because the buds sit snugly in your ear canals, they create a good seal that contributes to the noise cancellation. The passive noise isolation is noticeable even without turning on active noise cancelling. Since they fit so well, I don’t need to crank the volume past mid-level to get a great sound. My older pair had decent sound for an unknown brand but didn’t fit as well, and I had to turn the volume up to ¾ or near full to get solid sound. The charging case is a nice departure from the typical egg-shaped design. I opted for the blood orange color to ensure I don’t lose them again, thanks to its striking, vibrant hue. The earbuds snap into place with strong magnets, but the square shape makes it less comfortable to carry in your pants pocket. The hinge feels a bit small, so I’ll be careful with the lid, and I plan on buying a protective case, as the case seems prone to scratching. The round grey circle on the case is actually a lanyard attachment point. Overall, the NOTHING earbuds are an excellent choice. There’s an app you need to download to adjust the settings, but it’s minimal and easy to use. The battery life is exceptional; I’ve been using these earbuds for about 1 hour a day, 4 days a week at the gym for the past 2 weeks, and the case charge has only dropped to 90%, with the earbuds staying at 100%. NOTHING also offers the Pro 2 and higher-end models, but if you're looking for comfortable, no-frills earbuds at a great price, these are definitely worth considering. ... show more

I find myself saying this in every review on audio products, but here it is again. I'm a full time DJ, who produces and consumes a lot of music on the side. Big audiophile. I had the Sony Wh-1000xm3s the first year they were available. They broke. Bought the Nothing Ear 1s to replace them. Crapped out within a month. OK, I need wireless, preferably with ANC, and now after shredding my wallet with the top of the market I thought I'd give a really cheap option a try. If they break, whatever, it's 40 bucks. Pros: they sound really good. I tried them across a whole bunch of genres, from tech house to 60s Stones. They overcompensate on the bass a lot, but that's common with cheaper headphones, make it feel like more is there. However, I compared them with my brother's AirPod Pros and they sounded extremely similar in the high end. A very good overall sound. Another pro is that they use the same awesome app from Nothing. Very intuitive, some great presets. Touch controls and transparency mode is something I had to pay like $400 for 4+ years ago. Seeing that kind of engineering in a pair of $40 buds is beyond impressive. They're made out of plastic, so they feel fine in your ears for extended periods of time. They look great as well, which doesn't hurt. BATTERY LIFE! I haven't charged the case since I bought them less than a week ago and the case is still at 70% Cons: DON'T DROP THEM. I haven't, but I feel like if I did they'd shatter. The charging case feels like 10 times cheaper than the Ear 1s did. I feel like they included a lanyard ring for a reason. All in all, hope they hold up better than Nothing's flagship did, because I really like them. They sound good, they're cheap, comfy and have great battery life. If you're considering I'd say send it! Only 40 bucks, audio has come a LONG way. *edit 6 months later* Earbuds still work as well as when I bought them. No issues I felt with the Nothing Ear 1s, they sound fine and the NC is great. At some point I'm probably gonna upgrade to Sony's earbud or headset line but these have been beyond fantastic budget options. 5/5 for sure, durability, sound and quality. They do it all. Highly recommend. ... show more
