This is something that seems like it would be great, but isn't. It screws in to the umbrella holder. I guess that's where I naturally put my hand, because it was easy to find this thing and grip it when pushing the trolley. The first thing I noticed is that the thumb knotch is very soft and grippy, and the seam across the back of it is sharp and uncomfortable on the palm. No problem, I'll just push it with my glove hand. The next thing I noticed is that the top part is loose. Like ridiculously loose. It's not going to fall off, but it spins freely. That's not a problem if you're in the fairway, a little pressure to one side or another and the trolley moves slightly left or right. Push down to lift the front wheel and you can make sharp turns. Great! The problem comes when you're on rough ground. I hit a bad shot this morning and it ended up in a rocky, uneven area. As I pushed my trolley through the area looking for the ball, the front wheel would bounce. It didn't bounce enough to bring the wheel off the ground, but just enough to lighten the front end. That, coupled with uneven terrain and this knob being completely spin-around-in-circles loose, and every bump meant the trolley turned an unexpected direction. Ok, so I have to push it with the bars on uneven or bumpy ground. Fine. Soon I noticed it veering off every time I walked over a cart path. Ok, so I have to use the bars when I cross uneven ground, bumpy ground and cart paths. Then I caught that seam on the top of it just wrong and took a chunk of skin off my hand. At that point I removed it from the trolley and threw it in the next trashcan I passed, where it belongs. If it had limits on how far it could turn, it would be great. If it had some resistance on how easily it turns, that would be great. It has neither. This is a good idea, executed very, very poorly. You absolutely do not need to buy this. It takes getting used to, and I mostly prefer using the regular handle, but I can't fault this little steering knob. Is it necessary? Nope. Does it make the cart easier to maneuver...meh. Like all Clicgear items, it's quality is top notch, I just don't see a use for it, nor use it much. The normal handle design makes a Clicgear cart super easy to maneuver. So I downgraded this to 4 stars just due to its lack of necessity, but it's a high quality accessory, if one handed swivel driving is your thing. If you want to accessorize your cart, save your money here and get their cooler. ... show more

Just recieved product. Seems to be made of very stury materials. Knob larger than I expected, which is a good thing. Feels like I have effortless control and steering. Item is a must addition for all clicgear push cart owners!

I was skeptical about spending any money on a steering knob when my Clicgear 8 handle alone had been fine. Now I only wish I would have boughten this sooner! I'm a fan of the easy handling and it can stay on when I put my cart back in my trunk. Only downside is no umbrella holder while the knob is in, oh well. ... show more
