  • Window Bird Feeder made from White PVC, Made in the U.S.A., Adjustable for windows up to 36"

Description

THE most entertaining bird feeder we produce! This ClearView Feeder fits right into you window for an up close view of all of your feathered friends! Hours of entertainment for the whole family! Tons of fun!! You can learn to identify some of the birds that frequent the feeder. This encourages a love of learning more about your backyard habitat! This feeder is perfect for those who might be unable to tend to an outdoor feeder but still love the thrill of bird watching. Also apartment/condo dwellers and others who might have restrictions on outdoor feeders can enjoy birding activity up close and personal. Made of PVC and plastic, this is a durable feeder, and its crisp white color is very appealing. The semicircular top and base of the unit rest inside your home, and a plastic window keeps the birds visible. This platform holds 1 quart of mixed seed, suet nuggets, mealworms, or fruit, and provides plenty of space for a few birds to dine. Two rectangular, PVC panels form the front of the item, and allow the unit to be mounted into most single and double hung windows from 30" to 36" wide. These also create a barrier between your window and the elements and included insulation foam strips help the feeder remain secure. An opening on the top of the piece makes refilling simple, and a cap with matching stepped trimwork protects feed from the elements. A metal rod through the feeder body keeps it aligned and assembled, while the PVC construction remains durable without rotting or warping. Some Assembly required. Made in the USA. Our ClearView feeder does not come with a 2 way or mirrored panel. The main reason we have chosen the clear panel is because a lot of bids are territorial and would attack a mirror reflection of themselves. With our design and by having the clear viewing panel it helps prevent the birds from seeing a reflection and trying to attack their own reflection, which could harm the bird.

  • The best in-window bird feeder!
My tax return just came and I decided to take a chance on this more expensive item. First, I was shocked to see it was constructed from solid wood. Contrary to others’ experiences, the pieces fit together easily. I LOVE the hatch which allows you to pour seed in from the inside - with suction cup feeders I would have to open my 3rd story window and contort my arm to pour more seed in from the outside while trying not to let my cats out! Unlike other window bird feeders which use suction cups, which get dirty, are unsightly, and don’t stick, this uses side panels to secure itself into the side groove of the window, like a window fan or a/c unit. The only downside is that my window has a one inch bottom lip that means the feeder is not sitting flush on the inside window sill, which is the same problem I have when I put in my window a/c. So even though the feeder seemed secure, I did put a small rock (could use a towel or block of wood) between the indoor sill and the base of the feeder just to make it extra secure. Lastly, some reviews mention rain being a problem. Fortunately the way this feeder sits allows you to close the storm window on the outside to prevent rain from coming in (see pictures). So read the clouds or the weather report before you leave for the day I guess. Honestly 10/10 best frivolous tax return purchase I’ve ever made, this has been my TedTalk. Update: I did not read the clouds and forgot to drop the storm window and it rained pretty hard last night. The bird feeder stayed dry, no leaks into the feeder or my house. 11/10. ... show more

  • Took a while
It took a while for the birds to trust coming inside. That's probably because it's just 3' from my bed. They visited a couple times but I was unable to catch them for a pic, I just heard them fly away as I rolled. Well, this wet and colder morning finally found one male house finch brave enough to stick around for a photo. So, placement away from human traffic nearby would probably work out better. As far as the window unit, it looks very nice and almost part of the window build! It was a little difficult to line everything up without an extra set of hands keeping the plastic in place while tightening down the connecting rod (my knee came in handy for this lol). Two things could be improved: 1. a way to close it (i.e. a sliding door) for when the weather is horrible, and 2. A foam or other material as a thick seal between the bottom of the window and above this unit (like what window ac units use). However, both were an easy add for myself. I purchased it for an awesome price, so I'm not disappointed by this. I may purchase another for another area of the house in the future, but once on sale. ... show more

  • Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.
Not sure anyone could justify a pricetag over $50 for this... an $50 is being generous. Made from very cheap, flimsy materials. I doubt this would last a year, unless you had only a handful of feathered friends visit and there was very little rainfall. Too bad. Great idea.

  • Its great, but....
I like everything about this feeder....the style, construction, ease of assembly and filling, and installing it in my window. It's very attractive. The only problem comes from the fact that I have had it for a month now and no birds have found it. I am very disappointed. I live in a second-floor apartment and it's likely the birds aren't looking up that high for food and the fact that the feeder is actually inside my living room, they can't see that there is food there. I am considering using a suction feeder on the outside of the window to hopefully bring the birds up to the other feeder. So I can only recommend this feeder if you are using it on a ground-floor window and even then it will probably take more time for the birds to find it than a conventional feeder. I wish it had some kind of shelf on the outside that would hold seeds just to get the birds to notice it. Update: A bird finally found my feeder, but at this time of year with plants going to seed, I have a feeling I still wont see many birds at the feeder until the late fall/early winter when seeds are gone. But at least one of them knows its there! Update 2: The Mourning Doves have found the feeder this year and they keep the other birds away. Other models of the same feeder now have a sliding door in the front that you can raise or lower to keep larger birds out. Perhaps a piece with a small hole opening like a birdhouse would be a good solution. I might have to see if I can jury rig something on my own or all I will see are Mourning Doves. ... show more

  • Adorable!
I bought this bird feeder for my adult daughter for Christmas. She loves watching the birds and I thought she’d really enjoy having them come right into the room to get their seeds. She loves it! So do I, actually. The birds found it fairly quickly, and after a few days they adjusted to seeing us in the room, too. Now they know they’re safe to eat, and it’s been really cool seeing the variety of birds coming to the feeder. Easy to assemble and install, and it looks just like the picture. ... show more

  • Nicely constructed, hard to fit into window.
This feeder is nicely constructed and easy to assemble. I do feel it’s extremely overpriced for what it is in terms of materials and simplicity of design, but I kind of knew that when I bought it. It does fit into most windows easily and the weather stripping does a good job of forming a pretty good seal. My only grip is that it’s very front heavy and there isn’t a great way to secure it in place, meaning while it fits well, it could easily get knocked out of position if bumped slightly. The window just won’t hold it tightly. Overall it’s decent and I’m excited to see what birds come to it. ... show more

  • The Best of Birds !
My grandmother is in her room a lot and doesn't get around to well. I got her this and she LOVES it !! The birds come and eat basically inside her room. The window is low enough the squirrels come eat too. She has them all named and watches their behavior patterns. It's definitely an added interest to her life. It's easy to clean, no mess on the inside of the room. Great idea and product !! ... show more

  • Here Birdy......
Birds love this feeder, but it does take a few days for them to find it and a few more for them to feel safe enough to approach it.....now I have birds and a good variety of birds feeding....doves, finches, cardinals....waiting for a hawk to show up.....maybe I will put a little camera on it.
