Description

For use with the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, the Clearblue Fertility Monitor Test Stick pack includes 30 individually wrapped test sticks. The majority of women who are trying to get pregnant will need 10 test sticks each cycle. Women with irregular or long cycles may have to use 20 test sticks each cycle. The Clearblue Fertility Monitor comes from the 1 OB- GYN ovulation recommended brand and is proven to increase the chances of getting pregnant by 82% in the first cycle of use. It's designed to identify all your fertile days, typically up to 6, which is more days than traditional ovulation predictor kits. This discrete, feminine, handheld fertility monitor tracks two key fertility hormones, estrogen and luteinizing hormone, it shows your fertility information on the easy to use touch screen as well as summarizing up to 6 cycles data on one screen for easy comparison. From the Manufacturer To use the Clearblue® Fertility Monitor – the 1 brand recommended by OB/GYNs – to maximize your chances of getting pregnant, you will need to purchase the Clearblue Fertility Monitor Test Sticks separate from the device. Clearblue Fertility Monitor Test Stick packs include 30 individually wrapped test sticks. The majority of women will need 10 test sticks each cycle. Women with irregular or long cycles may have to use 20 test sticks each cycle.About the Clearblue Fertility MonitorTaking conception to the next level, the Clearblue Fertility Monitor maximizes a woman’s chances of conceiving a baby by identifying 3x more fertile days compared to traditional ovulation tests. This electronic, hand-held monitor tracks a woman’s personal cycle, detecting two key ovulation hormones: luteinizing hormone (LH) and estrogen. Using the two hormones, the device can pinpoint not only a woman’s 2 peak fertility days, but also 1-5 additional high fertility days prior to ovulation – for a total of up to 6 fertile days.Benefits of Using the Clearblue Fertility MonitorIt has been shown to accurately predict ovulation when compared to serum hormone measurements and vaginal ultrasound scans2, but testing can be done at home and at a fraction of the cost.It gives a more accurate indication of more fertile days than any other home method. It’s quick, easy to use, and easy to understand. The Monitor indicates when to test and the level of fertility every day, requiring no subjective interpretation. It personalizes to a woman’s cycle, storing her information for up to six previous menstrual cycles. It’s natural – no drugs or invasive devices and procedures. It gives advance notice of Peak Fertility, so couples can plan intercourse at their convenience. How the Fertility Monitor WorksThere are only a few days per cycle when a woman is fertile and can conceive. The following chart outlines the phases of a woman’s menstrual cycle, showing how the two most fertile days coincide with the LH surge (24-36 hours before ovulation) and the release of an egg (ovulation). These are a woman’s 2 best days to conceive a baby. However, it is generally acknowledged that sperm can survive up to 5 days in the sperm-supportive mucus found in a woman’s body during the fertile days of her cycle meaning there is a fertile window of typically up to 6 days: 5 days before ovulation plus the day of ovulation. Traditional ovulation tests like Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test track the LH hormone and identify a 2 day window of fertility. But the Fertility Monitor also tracks estrogen levels, which rise just before the LH surge, extending the fertile window typically up to 6 days. This extended window can help to reduce the time it takes to conceive2 as it gives more days to try, plus gives advance notice of the 2 peak days.Testing DirectionsThe Fertility Monitor is easy to use and gives you clear accurate results. On the first day of your period, you will press the M button to let the monitor know a new cycle has begun. Each day, you must switch on the Monitor and follow its directions. On mornings when the Monitor requires further information about your hormone changes, a test will be requested.Simply remove the test stick from its wrapper. (The majority of women need 10 test sticks each cycle. Women with irregular or long cycles may have to use 20 test sticks each cycle.) Point the Sampling End of the test stick downstream in your urine for 3 seconds.Take the cap off the handle and place it over the Sampling End of the test stick and remove any excess urine.Holding the test stick by the cap, insert the test into the Monitor’s Test Stick Slot, pressing down until it clicks into place. The display will flash for approximately 5 minutes while reading your information. After 5 minutes, the Remove Test Stick symbol will flash. Once you have removed the test stick, your fertile status will be displayed.Low fertility = very small chance of conceiving High fertility = increased chance of conceiving Peak fertility = highest chance of conceivingTesting for PregnancyWhen you’re ready to test for pregnancy, choose a brand and product you can trust. In the Clearblue Pregnancy Test Buying Guide, we outline the different features of pregnancy tests so you can feel maximum confidence throughout the entire conception process.More about Predicting OvulationAs the diagram above illustrates, timing is key when trying to conceive a baby. While there are manual charting and calculator methods that may be used to predict ovulation, these methods often fall short. They require tracking a woman’s typical cycle length over several months. However, every woman’s cycle is unique and cycles for any one woman can vary from cycle to cycle – making calendar-based predictions unreliable prediction as well as time-consuming. That’s why Clearblue provides a range of products to help predict ovulation without months of charting. You can learn more about predicting ovulation and which method is right for you in our Ovulation Test Buying Guide.1 Behre HM et al. Style: 1 Fertility Monitor
Okay. :-) This is a long review. For those trying to get pregnant: I used this monitor along with the ClearBlue digital OPK, some cheap LH OPK strips from Amazon (blue box with colorful words about pregnancy), a pocket microscope to track ferning, and a BBT thermometer to track basal temp along with the Period Tracker app (pink flower app) and my FitBit Versa women wellness app section. EACH METHOD MATCHED. Everything down to my predicted ovulation on my tracking apps (was off by a day on both) lined up with an LH surge and peak fertility. I believe this can be trusted to help get pregnant, but do maybe 3-4 cycles—probably by cycle 4 you will be pregnant! For those just trying out tracking methods: This device is a powerful asset to the tools out there now for at home tracking of LH surges and estrogen level increases. I wouldn’t use it by itself because it may read incorrectly or display an error, which would have been EXTREMELY disheartening if I were trying to get pregnant and that was my only testing method—this thing is expensive, BUT THE TEST STICKS ARE ROBBERY. I was dumb and bought mine at CVS because they weren’t in stock anywhere else and I had to test the next morning so I couldn’t order them in time from Amazon—THEY WERE $80! I digress.... Anyway, the monitor stores your info for 6 months then deletes your first month to make room for month 7, so keep that in mind. It was accurate with my other tracking methods but was a little annoying to use because you can only set it up to test ON DAYS 1-4 OF YOUR CYCLE and your testing window of 6 hours CANNOT BE CHANGED ONCE YOU CHOOSE IT. Choose your window wisely and take into account if you sleep in on the weekends, as I missed my window by 30 minutes once and almost missed it a second time. For those wanting it as contraception: I hope this was your ultimate last resort or you’re rolling in dollars, because this thing plus the test sticks are expensive. You would DEFINITELY be better off buying the cheap LH test strips on the market and maybe using 1 or 2 other methods that are free to you (checking cervical position/texture and cervical mucus). Otherwise, this is just another tool to help you keep track of your lady cycle (did I mention it’s expensive...?) and it is wholly unnecessary when condoms and Plan B’s exist. It is nice to have and it has an easy-to-read calendar which makes avoiding your fertile days a breeze, but keep in mind that just because your fertile window has passed, it doesn’t mean you can’t still get pregnant. Use caution when trying NOT to conceive—these products are mostly for those wanting to become pregnant so they aren’t on your side to begin with! Overall it worked for me, I was thrilled with the results and I believe this will help me get pregnant when I am ready. It matched other OPK tests, my saliva ferned in time with the results, and my body temp increased as I approached ovulation and went back to normal after. The test window was a pain though. However, if you use the dip method (essential if you’re using multiple tests) it is potentially less annoying and you probably won’t waste a stick because I used the monitor sticks with the ClearBlue Advanced Digital monitor and they matched. Couldn’t use the Digital sticks with the monitor, though, even though they seem the same. But if you’re out of options except a fertility specialist and the money is worth it to you, GET THIS THING. It worked for me. (33 day cycle, no ovarian issues). I don’t regret buying it, but I also had a very positive first experience with it. It arrived right on time for me to set it up on day 4 of my cycle. ... show more

  • Dummy Proof!!

This makes testing ovulation super easy. You have to buy the special test strips separately! I am sure it says this somewhere in the description, but I didn’t realize it until it was delivered! Oops!

  • Great until..
Style: 1 Fertility Monitor
I overall found this to be a great product. I reached out to customer service for a replacement as my monitor home button stopped working without any reason (no damage to product). Provided the bar code they required on their website. I wish they would have gotten back to me because I am having difficulty using this product if I cannot turn it on without removing batteries every time I try to start it up. Update: Spoke with clear blue customer service as my monitor home button. They helped me trouble shoot ways to fix the problem via email. Ultimately wasn’t able to fix it and sent me a new monitor as replacement. 10/10 recommended product for tracking cycles, and their great customer service! ... show more

  • Expensive but nothing compares
Style: 30 Fertility Tests
If you are doing strict Marquette method NFP then you need these. I just hate the price. Every other month I have to buy them. I know the manufacturer could make them for half the price but they won't because there's nothing else like it on the market. The closest thing is Mira fertility but that's stupidly expensive and not quite the same thing as far as being simple. I hope one day someone invents a fertility tracker made just for NFP. ... show more

The box came a little beat up (and a few days late), however the sticks were all still in working order and I didn’t have any run as long as directions were followed.

  • These fit in the regular digital monitor!
Style: 30 Fertility Tests
Let's face it, ovulation tests are hard to read when you're trying to decipher the darkness of lines on your own. Hence why I started using the digital ClearBlue stick that only comes with 10 refills. My husband and I are TTC, so we ran out quickly. Purchasing refills is not super clear cut, so I wanted to inform the masses that these are compatible with the digital stick, you don't just have to try reading them on your own, or purchase the super expensive fertility monitor. They are indeed accurate, and have confirmed my fertility basically to the day that my doctor has, as well as my calculations based on my cycle. It's nice to know when you're most fertile, and then you can use those days to predict the rest of your cycle, and when you should be testing for ovulation during the next. Plus, it gives you something to pee on when you're nowhere near the time to take a pregnancy test ;) I have a few friends who also use them for natural family planning, as they cannot be on hormonal birth control. ... show more
