  • Best baby purchase ever. It's worth the price (yes, compared to the cheaper door frame jumpers)!
Color: Black Saddle
A friend of ours got this for their little boy (same age as our baby) and seeing how happy he was sealed the deal on whether or not we wanted to fork over the money for it for our baby since it's much more expensive than the door frame jumpers (and larger space wise). My husband and I agree it's the best baby purchase we've made so far. Our daughter LOVES this thing so much. The first time we put her in it she lit up like a Christmas tree when she figured out she could jump up and down on her own, it was hysterical. She giggles and squeals and turns around and around, stopping only to smile at us or reach out to try and pet the dog as he goes by. Now she's figured out she can pivot on one foot to do a spin to face whatever direction she wants. A side benefit of her having a blast (and us having one watching her) is that we can sit down in front of her and eat in peace while she jumps to her heart's content. Obviously I highly recommend getting this but for those of you who like bullet points/pros/cons here they are: Pros: - Easy to set up, no tools needed. Took me about 10 minutes to put together. - Easy to fold back up and put away flat BUT you need to hang on to the washers so have a ziplock baggie and some tape handy. Not sure why they don't have a better way to store these onto the jumper so you don't lose them and can easily keep them close by. - Very sturdy, no wondering if a door frame will hold it safely or if your baby is going to run/jump into a door - Tons of fun for baby and parents/caregivers - Quality materials; harness is washable (make sure you attach the velcro strips together before washing) - Lightweight, easy to move to another area/room Cons: - You need space for this thing. We have a pretty small living room and this thing takes up half the walkable space (but we don't care since we love it.) - As another reviewer said, it's a pain to get your kid in and out of it, which sounds like a deal breaker but it's not. The instructions tell you to lay your baby down and put them in the harness and then, while holding your baby in the harness, hook the harness into the appropriate chain link. Um yeah...that's really hard to do the first time when you are not sure which chain link to hook it into because it all depends on your baby's height so it's trial and error and you're standing there holding your baby in the harness trying to match up the hook to the correct link and it's all just a giant pain. So...I recommend once you figure out which link to put it into, leave it there and just take your baby out of/put them in the harness while it's attached to the spring already. This is not super easy to do and you have to be careful but it's significantly easier than the other method of trying to rehook a harnessed baby (who, by the way, will start to get so excited they will start jumping before you even get them fully secured into the harness). It's definitely easier to do with two people, so one of you can hold the harness open and the other can easily put the baby in it but you can do it by yourself if you're patient and it gets easier every time. Again, this is not a deal breaker (for me) when it's such a great product. And of course, while this should go without saying, this is not a babysitter...you must watch your baby closely at all times while in this jumper and despite the product saying it's for babies 3 months and older your baby MUST have very good head control before using this, so it's more likely for use around 4 to 5 months, not 3. Also if your baby is already close to 30 lbs this product is probably not for you. We had friends come over with their 10 month old who is pretty chunky and we had to put the harness at the highest setting and he sunk so low he couldn't really jump so he just stood there and stared at us. So have it ready around 4 months so your baby can get full use of it. Oh and have your video camera ready! ... show more

  • Kid won’t stop bouncing!
Color: Black Saddle
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: we received our new Jolly Jumper with all parts and our kid will not stop jumping! He loves it and especially loves to jump to music, talk/spit/baby noises, or wave his Astros flag around while jumping. This does take up space, but it is so easy to “fold” and lean against a wall or behind the couch. For us, it is a baby product that is 100% worth the real estate (many are so not worth it). Asher’s legs are so strong and his balance and coordination is really improving. For reference, he is almost seven months old and we got the jumper around his 6 month birthday. It’s nice to move around wherever you need it. I like to move it and put him in it while I do dishes or need to eat. Also, if he’s fighting nap time, I put him in it and he’ll jump like crazy for 10 minutes and be totally worn out. We currently live in an apartment with door frames, but we are saving up for a house and don’t know if that house will have door frames or not. This is why we bought this free standing jumper. I also had some friends who had issues with their child hitting the sides of the door frame - there is no issue with that on this jumper! I also really like it because there are no toys hooked to it. He’s not bombarded with plastic toys or a tray while jumping. We set it in front of our porch door often so he can bounce and look outside. Here are some of my thoughts on common complaints I see - The seat is not that hard to put your child in. It’s multiple steps for their safety and security while jumping. It takes me about two minutes to get him in and hooked up to the spring. And, it most definitely does not take two people to do it. My hubs and I did it together the first time, but we can easily do it on our own now. I simply lay Asher on the floor and put it on him. We find that the structure is stable and well-equipped for little jumpers! I initially gave this one star because it came with a missing part and that seemed like a really poor impression of the company. Here it is: We returned this item because it came missing the seat the child goes in. However, I am giving this jumper another shot. We sent this one back and I am currently waiting for the new one. I really hope I get to come back and give this jumper 5 stars when it comes again with all it’s pieces! ... show more
