These motion lights are great for gate entrances and fence lines. The motion feature works very well and the lights are quite bright. Very easy to install and as long as you get full sun, they seem to last most of the night.

I got these motion lights to help with a raccoon problem in our backyard and needed something responsive that would be off and then blast on. Although this light has other settings that's what I'm using it for and it works fine. My only gripe with this light (and so, so, so many more on the market just like it) is that I don't want to put a hole in my house to install it. These lights are nice while they work but the rechargeable batteries don't last forever and they aren't made to be replaced. The lights do come with some adhesive tape for install if you don't want to screw them in but I separately purchased some 3M outdoor tape because the adhesive that comes with it doesn't look robust enough to handle the wind, rain, and temperature fluctuations that this will encounter as it also has to be out in the light to recharge. This would be a 5-star item if it just came with a gutter mount! We've all got gutters and it would save us drilling and gluing and make removal when the batteries die so easy. ... show more

I was surprised by how bright these things are. They function pretty well as described. One thing that might make them more durable long term would be a rubber o-ring between the main chassis and the clear lens. A second o-ring at the motion detector would be good too. I took one of them apart and saw a purple 18650 2200maH lithium-ion battery manufactured by Hongli. It was charged to ~3.9v which is a little high but OK. The output of the solar panel reached ~3.3v so there is probably some DC-DC conversion on the PCB. The PCB has 4 holes for fasteners, but only two fasteners were used - probably to save assembly time/cost. Would I recommend? For this value segment it is fine. The materials and assembly choices are clearly intended to minimize cost so I'm not sure about long-term durability. If it had those o-rings, I would have a lot more confidence. ... show more

I know these are supposed to be mounted high up on a wall, but I have them on the two entrance gates to my backyard. They light up extremely well at night if you get within 15-20 feet. This is absolutely critical as those spots are currently a dead zone at night and our neighborhood (formerly quite boring) is now getting a lot of night prowlers. It is smaller than expected but I think I should have read the size info carefully. It is a very bright light which actually has 3 modes. I tested all three and they work just fine. I have it installed in my backyard on the vinyl siding as it's super easy to do thanks to adhesive backing and on the swing set. I did not want to damage the siding with the nails. I installed it quite high up on the wall, but it is detecting motion just fine which is why I bought it to light up the dark side of the yard. Overall, very nice. ... show more
