Pleasantly surprised! These stools are so nice with a perfectly cushy and firm base. Gas lift works well (a bit aggressive lift on first use, but the initial jump went away after that) and I would rather this to one that barely lifts it! Leather top (of white stools) resembles suede a bit more than a sleek leather but still seems smooth enough to wipe down easily. I’m not sure if this happens with all gas lift stools/chairs, but when you sit on it it does slowly sink about an 1-2inches (I’m 5’6” and on the lighter side, so I can’t speak to if this would wear down the gas lift more for someone with a heavier build).
