I have two tankless water heaters in my house and the plumber wanted something like $650 to service both. Plus it's supposed to be done once a year, so that really adds up. I was a little nervous, "What if I screw this up?" but it's not hard at all. It's super easy. Most of the plumbers cost is due to the time spent waiting for the tank to recirculate long enough to take off mineral deposits. Naturally plumbers have a high hourly rate and they only do one tank at a time, so the cost sort of makes sense when you look at the total time. But I don't need to pay for a plumber to sit around. You should watch some YouTube videos. Plenty of how-to's out there. This was a far cheaper option. I did both in a few hours....easy project on a Sunday when there's some football games on. I let it run extra long just because it hadn't been done in awhile and I probably had more build-up than normal. Kit was great. Quality of the hoses and connections are great. No complaints or areas of improvement. I didn't use the descaling solution provided the first time, because most DIY videos's used white vinegar. The kit does contain everything to flush your tankless water heater. The hoses are metal braided and color coded although one of the hoses had some loose wire braids which could have been painful if I hadn’t noticed them. I did not check the fitting on the pump and had to tighten the connector as it was leaking out of box, but an easy fix. I felt that ideally the mesh that sits in the bottom of the bucket for the pump to sit on would ideally have had a hole in it where the outflow hose from the hot water bypass could have been placed rather than it just flopping around in bucket. The other suggestion would be for level marks to be added on the inside of the bucket to make measuring water to chemical ratio easier. Overall the pump ran fine and was adequate for the task. As instructions are generic I did refer to a YouTube video for specifics on my water heater. ... show more

This kit contained everything we needed to flush our tankless water heater. It worked great and was easy to do. We even noticed that our plastic storage containers that were looking stained prior to cleaning our tant actually started looking like new after we did the flush. Value for your money is a 10 out of 10 when considering how easy to use and how much a plumber will charge for this!! Capacity is a 5 gallon bucket but you can only add about 3 gallons to it due to the use of the pump while running inside bucket. Quite pump, flows well not noisy!!!!!
