  • Works great on hard-to-remove Pug fur!
Color: White
Anybody with pugs knows that their fur is not like regular dog fur. It buries itself into the fibers of clothes instead of just laying on top of the fibers. This means you have to go over it many times with a regular tape roller remover and do it from multiple directions. And even then it's likely you'll still have to pull some out by hand. This roller gets it out so much faster and tons more easily than the tape rollers! I have some other brush type things that use the same type of red stuff to remove the hair and they also work great. The advantage of this particular roller is that it has the built in feature of removing the hair from the roller and depositing it in the little tray so that cleanup is easy. ... show more

  • Best pet hair remover... ever!
Color: White
I have always had at least one dog and I'm used to coping with some dog hair, but I've never allowed dogs on the furniture and I also think that my dogs all had hair that was fairly easy to remove. Fast forward to 2012, and I am in a second marriage with 3 kids. The last "not on furniture" dog died and we got a new dog named Zara. Hubs grew up in a house that allowed dogs on the furniture so when we saw that that Zara was able to jump on the furniture we had to make a decision. We did it the good ol' American way and put it to a vote. Hubs and all three girls voted to let the dog on the furniture, much to my dismay. Worse, Zara's hair is like nothing I've seen before... once it gets onto cloth, most of the time it clings to the point that the hairs have to be pulled out individually. Vacuuming, tape-style lint rollers, a Gleener depiller, velcro balls in the washer/dryer, Bounce pet hair dryer sheets ... they all leave a lot behind. Fast forward to 2020 and not only am I at my wits' end with the dog hair, but all three kids are grown women and none of us likes that we can't sit on the furniture without having to get out a hand-held vacuum and vacuum the dog hair off the back of each others' pants. Fast forward one last time to last week when I finally decided to get this Chom Chom gadget. I am ASTOUNDED at how well it works. I think the secret is with the little squeegee on the roller. I've tried using a squeegee on carpet before and it really does work, but it is unwieldy, cannot easily be done in more than one direction, and it must be done with a vacuum nearby to gather whatever gets pulled up. Also, then the squeegee ends up with pet hair on it so it needs to be cleaned before it gets put back into service for cleaning glass. With the Chom Chom, you get the benefit of the squeegee, but since it is on the roller, it is easier to do back/forth strokes. And then as for how the dog hair gets off the roller and into the hair collection chamber... maybe it is sorcery? I have no idea how that works but IT DOES!! In full honesty, I still have to do extra strokes to get all of Zara's hair (it gets our other dog's "easy hair" on the first swipe), but the amount that the Chom Chom picks up relative to the number of passes I have to make over the fabric is unbelievable! Once the chamber is full, I use a handheld vac to remove the hair and then it is ready to go again! The only downsides that I can see are: - Some dog hair gets trapped in the side hinges of the door to the collection chamber and has to be pulled out with the fingers. It is possible that if I cleaned it before it got SO FULL, that problem would go away, but we just have SO MUCH dog hair and the gadget is so effective that I would be emptying every couple of minutes. - The button to open the collection chamber door is right where I place my thumb for strength so I tend to pop it open when I am doing the actual rolling task (I seem to have this problem with a lot of products that have a button in the center, so that might be a "me" problem.) - The chom chom is 7.5" wide which is excellent for cleaning furniture, but a narrower version would be better for clothing, especially when the dog hair gets on the clothes while they're being worn and it would be impractical to remove the clothes (e.g., if you get dog hair on your black pants when you ride in your co-worker's car to lunch during the workday.) BOTTOM LINE: I have had this little gadget for less than a week and have already recommended it to several people and wrote this review while I was looking to see if they had a narrower model for my car/office/coat closet. I wish I had owned this years ago, and I would 100% buy it again. ... show more

  • Must Have!!!
Color: White
I was a little skeptical about this when I bought it but it's actually amazing. My roommates cat absolutely loves my chair but she sheds a lot. I am wildly allergic to cats so sitting in the chair and then moving to my bed with cat hair all over me would be a snotty nightmare. I was using regular lint rollers with the sheets but I would end up going through them so quickly. I'm not the best person when it comes to reducing waste but I love that I can reuse this over and over again and the only thing I'm throwing away is the cat hair. My chair is sort of like those saucer or moon chairs so it's not the flattest of surface. Despite that, the chom chom still picks up all the fur. And of course it works on flat surfaces, too. I've had this for about a month and the only problem I see is that hair does get stuck in the corner on the inside but that is very easy to remove. I also think the value for money is pretty good since it's reusable. All in all, I really like it. I might even buy some as presents. ... show more

  • This Chom Chom Works Well, But It Does Have Its Limitations.
Color: White
This Chom Chom lint and hair roller does work as advertised IF it is used correctly. We mainly use this Chom Chom to clean up the hair left on the faux leather furniture by our constantly shedding Sable German Shepherd. It does indeed work really well for that purpose. This Chom Chom also picks up little pieces of lint off of the furniture very well. However, this Chom Chom is NOT going to vacuum the entire house by itself, so don't expect miracles from it. This Chom Chom is designed to be used in short back and forth strokes, and not long rolling motions, as the hair collector bar does not turn 360 degrees (it flips back and forth). The hair collector pads are designed to collect hair and lint by building up static electricity through friction, and then the squeegee deposits the hair and lint into the easy to empty storage compartment. If the Chom Chom is used in one long continuous direction/motion it will not work correctly, and I am quite sure that is where the very few negative reviews are coming from. Also, as specifically stated in the included instructions, this Chom Chom is NOT designed to be used directly on humans or pets. It is not a sticky clothing lint roller or a dog/cat brush. The instructions also state that this Chom Chom will not work on hard or smooth services. It needs some friction from rough furniture material in order to build up static electricity on the cleaning pads. As I previously stated, this Chom Chom does work very well IF it used as directed. Just don't use it for unintended purposes, and then leave a bad review because the instructions were ignored or not read at all. While I would have given this Chom Chom 5 stars just because it works so well for its intended purpose, it does have a couple of shortcomings. First off, if a finger is not placed over the door latch of the hair storage compartment while using the Chom Chom, the door constantly flips open and the collected hair goes everywhere (I learned this surprise the hard way). Maybe I received a Chom Chom with weak door latch? Also, this Chom Chom is made of cheap/thin plastic, so it will flex if too much pressure is placed on it during use. Also, the thin plastic construction does bring the long term durability of the Chom Chom into question. In conclusion, I do highly recommend this Chom Chom, as it does work very well for cleaning pet hair as advertised, IF it is used correctly. However, with the weak storage compartment door latch, and the cheap plastic construction, I can only rate the Chom Chom 4 stars. Personally, I only paid $18 for the Chom Chom on Amazon Prime Day, so cost was really not an issue just to try it out. However, it did take over a week to receive the Chom Chom, with 2 day delivery actually being shown in the product listing, so just be prepared in advance that the delivery of the Chom Chom may be delayed due to its immense popularity. However, that is not the fault of Amazon or the Chom Chom itself. UPDATE: This Chom Chom works so well at cleaning up dog hair that we now own 3 of them that we keep and use around the house. The strange part is that even though the name "Chom Chom" is technically a proper noun, we now use it as a verb in our house, as in "I just Chom-Chomed the couch." Good stuff! ... show more
