I absolutely LOVE my 220W Chicken Coop Heater from Alpcouts! We initially got it to use in our Catio to keep our kitty warm in the cool Oregon winters but still let her enjoy her outside time year round. I was so excited when I discovered that it was super portable and actually had a stand so you didn’t have to actually attach it to anything. We live full time in an RV so being able to pick up and move is important to us and this heater is lightweight, folds easily into a small easy to store item. I use to as a heat source when I’m sitting on our patio on cool days and I like it better than a space heater because it’s not blowing hot air at you so you don’t feel dried out. Even though it’s super lightweight and easy to move-the stand is well designed, making it difficult to tip over. It heats up quickly and gives a nice steady radiant heat. This could be great at any outdoor activity where you have access to power and where you want a spot to warm up. Definitely worth the money! ... show more

This is so nice for my animals... It's so warm but if you touch it you will not burn yourself.... So I don't have to worry about my critter's getting hurt with this heater... I love it! I didn't use it for chickens but I used it for cats... I'm just super pleased about this product and how warm it is.... Keeping the area underneath my mobile home warm for my critters that don't want to come inside is very important to me!!! I highly recommend this for anyone who has small critters 🐱🐈⬛🐇🐓🐔🐣 ... show more

This review is for the Alpcouts Chicken Coop Heater for Winter, 220W Foldable Flat-Panel Radiant Heater The things I like about this heater: - Foldable design, which enables you to stand or mount it in more flexible positions (like a corner) - Thermostatically controlled - UL standards for safety and energy consumption and overheating protection - Warm, radiant heat that is not overbearing - ABS/Aluminum construction - No 'exposed' heating elements that could burn an animal or spark a fire Things I do NOT like about this heater: - No power indicator light to show it is on/working - No temperature indicator to show how hot it is - No timer control that allows you to set this to only come on periodically - Backing gets hot, so you have to take care what you mount it against - No 'tip safety'. I would not trust this with the removable feet because our chickens are too nosy and would probably knock it over. There is nothing that shuts it off (as far as I can tell) if this happens - Lack of instructions - Heater stinks when you first power it on. I attributed this to the back or internals heating, but it smelled badly. We are planning to mount this heater in our roost, so the chickens can be kept warm on super cold (sub-freezing) nights, when keeping anything warm is difficult. That is a smaller space, so it should be able to help warm it up. In an open space, you don't really feel the radiant heat much, but then again it's hard to test if it's not cold out. But we will probably run a heavy-duty extension cord to the heater and put that cord on a timer that we can power on and off as desired. I could also see us using this near the water, to keep it from freezing in the winter. So we'll see which works best. We might have to get two. :) That said, aside from a few of the negative aspects, we like this heater and look forward to using it this winter. It's very affordable for the price, so definitely worth a try to keep your chickens, ducks, cats, etc. toasty in the freezing temps! ... show more

This heater arrived just before we got 4 days of rain and tornadoes in OKC. 7 inches of rain. My 12 hens loved this heater. We have used lights and quartz heaters and a single drop of moisture and they shattered. Other multiple electric panel heaters just didn't produce enough warmth. Mine is a large hen house and this does the job of drying everybody out . The folding is a nice touch, but with wall mount I can't speak to it. It might be nice in a corner mount. ... show more
