I have used my old Remington flat iron for 2 years and it died on me. I used my friends CHI on vacation and was impressed by the quality, hers is 5-6 years old. CHI was recommended me to by several friends because of the quality and long lasting use. I love that this flat iron is dual voltage for travel. I ordered the CHI original and CHI G2 To compare, the only difference I noticed is the G2 has an 11 ft cord and the original has a 6.. I prefer the shorter cord. Also the G2 has color coded settings which I don’t believe is necessary- it’s just a selling point. Both flat irons heat up fast and work great however I chose to keep the original because it is a ceramic plate which is less damaging to hair over time. The G2 has titanium infused plates which can be drying and damaging to hair. My one complaint would be that I wish it had a lock feature for storage. I did reorder this on target because it was $50 cheaper… Overall I am happy with the CHI and looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it! ... show more

The adjustable heat settings make this straightener perfect for any hair type! My hair is wavy and fine. My daughter’s is thick, curly, and more course. It heats up quickly and stays hot during use. The narrow size allows for quick and easy curling with the straightener. Works very well! Five stars!

I had the older model of this straightener for 14 years. It was very similar to this and I loved it. I never had issues and it lasted so long. When mine finally died it was only because something got dripped on the plug and it broke. My friend recommended the Lange brand to me and I tried it, immediately could tell it wasn’t like what I was use to with my CHI. I returned that one and immediately ordered this. It is so smooth, my hair is silky and feels great. It glides over your hair like butter. Love the digital temperature it saves my last used temperature setting as well. When you turn it on, it shows the temp you’ve saved and heats up within seconds. It beeps when ready, I love that! Also cools down quickly. I’m so happy they’re still make such wonderful products. The CHI digital flat iron is pretty good. It heats up quickly but you have to do multiple passes to get your hair straight. The TYMO is better. Also it pulls the hairs sometimes which is really annoying. The TYMO doesn’t do that because it’s a brush hair straightener. Also I had a CHI digital flat iron just like this one I bought a few years ago and the display on this one is different. It only lights up blue for every temperature, not different colors for the 3 different temperatures like my old one. My old one would light up blue for low temperatures, (under 300°) green for medium temperatures (under 400°) and red for high temperatures over 400°. That way I knew what temperature it was set at. Now it just lights up blue for ALL the temperature settings. That’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. ... show more

Love the Chi flat iron. I upgraded from an older iron because I liked the temperature function and that this model turns off when sitting idle. The ceramic plates cause no damage to my hair. My hair is gray with a natural wave so with the temperature setting this is perfect.
