  • Easy hot water all the time
Size: 5.3 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
I've had this for about 3 years and love it. I leave it plugged in with water in it all the time, and it stays hot enough that I don't worry about issues with the water if I don't use it for a couple weeks. It has also been a big help during winters during boil water orders, so I don't have to stand over the stove all day. ... show more

  • Fantastic product for the price.
Size: 5.3 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
Enormous size, I only need to fill once a day and we use it all the time for coffee and tea. Simple, w/o all the funky gadgets that the Japanese ones have (and I never used) when I had one of those a four times the price.

  • Well designed, excellent manual pump, awful quality
Size: 3.6 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
I've had the pot for a couple of weeks. We had similar pots in the past and used them elsewhere, so I have a few points of reference. First off, the user interface, i.e. the few buttons to control the pot are very well placed and marked. This has not been the case with the other pots. It's important as if you accidentally press "dispense" you may have a problem. The dispensing is done in one of three ways. There is big, lighted, different shape and placed very separately from other buttons the Dispense button on the top. Then there is a button under the spout, so that you could just press the cup against it to dispense. Finally, there is a manual pump. The pump is excellent. You can fill very quickly a full cup with a single push most of the time. As the water level in the pot drops, the jet pressure drops too, but still it is way better than other pots we used. You still can fill the entire cup with a single push, but you will have to wait longer as the stream gets weaker. Pumping it twice fills up a cup very quickly even with the nearly empty pot. Very impressive. The other two buttons are Boil and Lock. The latter disables all electric functions which is useful, for example, if you have small kids. While locked, the manual pump still operates and the water is kept hot. Addendum October 2023 We bought two of these pots over the past 12 mo. The first one is still working, barely. We used it less than once a week only and currently it tends to go into the boil mode and not come out of it or goes in and out of boil often and randomly. The second pot completely failed within a month (just went dead) and we returned it for a refund. So, if you want a disposable pot for a few month, this pot might be the ticket. November '23 Changed to a single star. A few dots on the metal bottom of the lid, which is presumably made of stainless steel, have grown into large rust spots. That's "stainless" steel for you. I guess it does not matter much by now as the pot is pretty much dead as I described above. ... show more

  • Good product for the money
Size: 3.6 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
Bought this almost 23 months ago, but only used it for 4-5 months in each winter. Unit is turned off at night and turned on in the morning to reduce calcium build up and to prolong the life. Worked well until few days ago, when it suddenly stopped working. I had to disassemble and re-solder 4 solders to get it to work again. I give 4 for overall value and ease of use and 3 for quality since it failed with only about 7 total months of use. ... show more

  • Keep the water warm anytime you want it
Size: 5.3 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
Love the water warmer dispenser feature. Much better than electric kettle as it keeps the water warm all the time. Great price and it works.

  • My mom loves it
Size: 3.6 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
Bought this for my mom because she said she wanted one at my house. She’s usually a certain brand person but I got this one instead and she said it was better than hers.

  • Poor Manual Pump: Not Recommended
Size: 5.3 Liter Style: Hot Water Pot
July 17, 2018 UPDATE: Since my update, below, I had a chance to test out the Chefman two consecutive Shabbatot (Sabbaths), and it works much better! It only took a few pumps to fill up an 8 oz. cup with hot water. Later I unplugged the unit and tried the manual pump again, and similarly, it took more than three pumps to fill up the cup. I'm raising my Star Rating to three, although I do like the unit, but I believe it still can be improved. I seem to recall being at a friend's house over Shabbat a few weeks ago, and her hot water urn required only one pump to fill an entire cup: you pushed down on the pump, and it kept pouring water until you stopped pushing! That's the way a manual water pump should work, in my opinion. Again, their customer service gets 5 Stars for replacing the unit after all warranties and service contracts expired. At least, thank you, Chefman, for that! July 2, 2018 UPDATE: The Chefman Co. sent me a new Hot Water Pot through Amazon, even though the return and support period ended. I give them FIVE STARS on customer service. I will be connecting it hopefully today, and will update my review on the product when I have more information on its operation. I bought the Chefman Instant Electric Hot Water Pot in March 2018 to replace my Classic Kitchen electric hot water pot, specifically for its electric pour-button lock-out feature and its manual pump, for use on Shabbat (the Jewish Sabbath, when closing/opening an electric circuit is prohibited) in order to have hot water for coffee, tea, etc. Initially the manual pump worked, although not so smoothly: I had to keep pumping hard to get water out which came out in shorter streams than my Classic Kitchen unit (which after 9-10 years finally died). Then after about a month the water barely came out at all: I had to painfully push the manual pump up and down rapidly to get any significant amount of hot water into my cup--so hard that my hand hurt from the pressure needed to pump! In addition, I don't like the design: the lid flips open and back, but is non-removable from the unit, which makes it more difficult to fill and dry out when empty: you have to prop the lid open with something long, e.g., a long wooden spoon, say, in order for air to circulate and dry it out. My former Classic Kitchen unit had a removable lid--very convenient. I opted for a cheaper brand, rather than purchasing a new Classic Kitchen unit, and I'm paying the price. I wrote this review today because I was searching for the return policy in order to return my Chefman, but it expired in April ( 1 month return policy), and Product Support expired one month later. I'm stuck with this unit until I win Powerball ;-) . I do not recommend it if you're buying it for the "Sabbath feature". If your purpose, however, is just to have an electric hot water urn that you keep filled during the week for instant coffee or tea, etc., it's okay, except for the attached lid. ... show more
