Heating elements of all four sides heat up equally , contrary to most other toasters. English muffins set at #4 pop up perfectly toasted , bread at three. Looks great on the counter. Not much else to say. I purchased the 2slice model for another location and so far perfect toast every time.

I have 7 people in my household and we enjoy "breakfast for dinner" quite a bit. We use our toaster a lot for bagels, toast, and waffles. As a result, we go through them rather regularly. Usually, we just grab whatever is cheapest and expect to replace it in the not-so-distant future. When I saw the Chef's Choice Gourmezza I decided to give it a try. I was attracted to the clean, elegant styling of the unit coupled with the large slots and retro design. I really like the dials which, in my experience, allows for more accurate and consistent toasting. Especially with bagels and thicker muffins. Using the toaster is simple enough. Since getting it, I have made toast (of course), bagels, muffins, and some frozen pastries. Each use produced warm, perfectly prepared snacks. The unit is very powerful and toasts quickly and evenly. Cleaning the toaster out is a snap. The trays are in the rear of the unit so you can't accidentally tip it over and end up with a mess. They are on the small side, but stay in their closed position and do a good job of collecting all of the crumbs. The rubber feet do a fantastic job holding the toaster in place. I have mine on a metal countertop. Because toasters are typically lightweight, I usually deal with them sliding across the counter. That's not the case with this one! It really stays put. I really like this toaster. It is attractive, well constructed, and appears to be made of quality materials. I firmly believe it will last a long time. If you're looking for a new toaster, and tired of buying ones that don't last, you should give this a try. ... show more

I used to use my toaster oven but I traded that out for a convection oven and you just can't toast in that. So I had a need for a toaster for when guests are here. I would rate this toaster as "Ok" but not great. It does the job but it feels cheap. The shade nob almost feels like it's a toy. Not sure how much this will stand up to but I don't use a toaster very often so it will do for me. I will say it looks nice on the countertop. I tested it with some bagels and realized that the bagel setting is lower than normal toaster settings so it warms more than it toasts. So if you want your bagels actually toasted, use regular settings. The photo I included was after 2 rounds at the 3 setting on bagels. Forgot to photo the one I did on regular settings but suffice it to say it actually toasted exactly how I wanted it to - lightly toasted but not charred. My biggest bugaboo is that the cord is REALLY short (24"). If you can't put it right near an outlet you will need an extension. It *barely* reaches where I have it at the moment. ... show more

This toaster looks great, especially from afar. It doesn't look bad up close, but considering it is a sub $100 toaster, the materials are a bit on the cheaper side. Many of the chrome pieces are actually that cheap plastic chrome. The toaster itself is light weight too in that thin metal and plastic way, but regardless, it really does look good. Toast-wise it's been awesome so far. It toasts evenly in all 4 slots, turning the knob to adjust the level is easy and responsive. It does a great job defrosting frozen bread without burning or toasting it when I use the defrost option. My biggest complaint is the cord length, it hands down has the shortest cord of a toaster I have ever had, and since the cord is on one end rather than the middle, it feels even shorter if you want it to sit in a certain spot on your counter. ... show more

I haven't owned a toaster in probably 5 years because I have been hesitant to buy one. The cheap ones are garbage, it is worth buying a nice one, but nice ones are so pricy. This one, as expected, toasts excellently. My only concern was that I am on a low-carb keto-ish diet, so the bread I eat is zero-carb. Zero-carb bread toasts kinda weirdly, so I wasn't sure how it would work in this item. So I tried four pieces of toast, two set to a 3/5 and two set to 3.5/5. All four pieces toasted in the EXACT same amount of time, and appear to be equally toasted, so not sure how well the toast dial actually works, but the important part is how well it toasted. VERY evenly, considering it was zero-carb bread. No burn spots, no cold spots, etc. It just worked as I expected it to. Regarding the headline mentioning it doesnt "feel" premium.. That is mostly due to it being SO light. I almost flipped it over when pressing both sides of the toaster slots to toast my bread. It LOOKS really premium but our society teaches us that "heavy = premium," and this is certainly not heavy at all. It IS premium, it works great and I am sure is built really well, it is just so light it doesn't give off a "premium" vibe when using it. ... show more

    • Great toaster
I got this 4 slice toaster to replace another 4 slice toaster. The other one was digital and had 2 extra long slots that you can put 4 slices of regular size bread into. I didn't like that one as much, so got this one. I do like this one much better. I found that I do like having the 4 separate slots because there is more even toasting. I like how there are 2 separate sets of controls so you can control each pair individually. This is great for staggering the toasting process so they are not all coming up ready at once. I also really prefer old fashioned dials over digital - I just feel like there is more control and once I set it, I don't have to worry about setting it again unless if I want to make changes. One con is that it's very lightweight and if you use too much force to push both levers down at the same time, you run the risk of tipping the whole toaster forward. I had to learn not to be such a brute with this thing. I love the look of it, it looks great in the kitchen. This is good because it's quite big and chunky, so it better look good.
