The arms are made up of twisted rope to act as a handle when playing with your dog. Unique K9 Tuff Guard technology includes denier canvas lining, nylon-fused backing, and double stitched seams for added durability. The fun doesn't have to end at tugging as these soft, floppy dog toys are also great for playing fetch with your dog. Both Thunda Tugga and Thunda Tugga Leggy dog toys are available in multiple styles. Note, these plush dog toys are not meant to be used as chew toys. I just had to replace the one that no longer has arms. We bought this toy years ago for our 2 Whippets and it held up really well. Those Whippets are no longer with us. Our new Whippet (1 1/2 years old) go through toys much faster. He loves to chew and he loves to tug and play hard. The old gorilla toy held up for awhile, but the arms just finally gave out. We got this new one because it is a dog's favorite toy and the only one that lasted this long with him. It's big, I bought it for my Yorkie puppy and it's 3 times bigger than her. It's really well sewn and looks like it will last a long time. I think when we bring her home this will be a favorite toy. I love giraffes and this is really cute. Recommend

I ordered this for our new puppy and it has turned out to be her favorite toy of all! She wore the first one out and I ordered her a new one and it’s still going strong! If it didn’t arrive with a hole in the arm where a squeaker was exposed I’d probably rate it 5 stars. It had to be sewn closed before I could give it to my dog to be played with safely. Pros - My dog is enjoying shaking it around like it’s a prey animal. The squeakers work well and are distributed throughout the toy. It’s actually bigger than I thought it would be. So far it’s showing no signs of damage or wear. Cons - Quality control should have noticed the large hole before shipping it. If the arms are ripped open the squeakers could be easily swallowed. Update - Within a few days of semi regular play my dog was able to rip a small hole in the chest of the gorilla that had to be sewn closed. And another hole opened up on the arms just from being shaken wildly. ... show more

I have attached a couple of pictures of Max after a rousing game of tug-of-war with his new zebra. Thank goodness they are finally worn out and having a nap. Max is an 11 month old yorkie and he weighs about 7 lbs. He may not look it but he has destroyed most of his toys. He loves chewing and thrashing his toys and trying to get the squeakers out of them. A lot of his toys have been destroyed within two or three days. We have had this zebra for several weeks now and despite his best efforts shows no signs of damage. In addition to the sturdiness what I really like about the toy is it has a lot of squeakers. it has five in all -- one in the head and one in each of the four feet. It has been great for tug of war as the "arms" are twisted fabric and slide through the toy. This is now his go to toy and we have been having a lot of fun with it.
