Because of issues getting approval from my association, I had to wait 6 months to install my charger. After waiting, I discovered the lock box I purchased (this one) didn't fit the Universal Charger. The company immediately reached out to me and offered a full refund, even though the return window was closed. Not many companies are so considerate and conscientious. The product arrived well packaged and I'm sure that if it had fit my particular charger, it would have worked well. Overall, I give it 7 out of 10. When there is security lock, then the hinge fastners should not be accessible. Anybody could unscrew the hinges and have access to the charger and the cable with no issue. Also the color of the hinges and screws should have been black to mach the color of the box.

One month in with the box and it has held up in a harsh winter in the Northeastern USA. It's definitely worth while to protect the wall charger. The lock combination works well and the box itself is well constructed.

As others have noted this does not work with a newer Tesla wall charger. I was planning to use a mobile charger in any case so that wasn't an issue for me. A couple of things to note the model I received had a key lock with a number tumbler as well but was missing the piece to lock the lock component in to the box. The seller was very helpful and promptly sent a replacement piece. These boxes originally had a round tumbler lock and hole is still there filled by a funky lcd clock and temperature in Celsius insert which easily pops out, see pics. I intend to put a metal plate over it. Also the lock it self was not set t rotate correctly so you may have to remove the screw on the back of lock to orient the lock swing correctly. I did have an existing external 220 volt plug and so took the box to a nearby welder to cut a hole to fit over it as seen in pics. I also had to rotate the plug to make an easy install. Also the box comes with ventilation slots on the side and bottom. I have taped bug screen over this to allow ventilation and keep out debris and bugs. Not that pretty but it works. ... show more

The sheet metal is too thin, and when I got the package it's damage one of the corner of the box and cracking, so need to handling carefully next time, and also the hanger for the charger is too big for the adapter. I don't know how they hang on to it.

The description of the item says this box is for a gen3 tesla wall charger. But the gen3 DOES NOT FIT in this box.
