  • It works great.
Style: Backpack
So I was looking for an electric chemical sprayer to spray bug killer and/or weed killer at a distance of at least 15' and I also needed a good amount of volume of the liquid. All the companies say on their boxes how long their batteries last, how many gallons their tanks hold. BUT None of the companies tell you what the maximum amount of volume it will/can spray per minute with nozzle wide open. I think this unit can spray just under a half of a gallon per minute. If the nozzle was wide open. Which was perfect when I needed the volume. Well this Chapin unit does the job. Sprays a stream of liquid over 20 feet. Of course only when you set the nozzle for a stream spray. You can make the nozzle spray a mist and it will not go that far. The electric pump system stops automatically when you stop spraying. Some other smaller sprayers just keep running until you manually turn off the switch. I have tried smaller electric sprayer units from other companies. They are smaller and maybe easier to handle, but do not spray the volume that I wanted. The area that I just sprayed with my new Chapin only took me 60 minutes to complete when using my other smaller sprayer, it would take me almost two hour and have to refill too many times. Pros: Easy to fill with the large fill opening. Easy to see the volume left. Battery lasted for my 60 minutes. Spray wand was very comfortable and had a long enough hose to be able to reach while spraying. Spray wand hand a lock "ON" feature which was nice. Motor stops pumping when not spraying, Minor Cons: - cannot tell how much battery power is left, but the box says it is good for 1.75 hours. - Wish there was a handle strap at the top of the tank, so I could easily carry it with one hand while it is not on my back. - maybe a spare nozzle to provide a more narrow spray. No major Cons. ... show more

  • Great Value and Works
Style: Backpack
I’m so glad I purchased this backpack sprayer, I had a manusl pump backpack sprayer before this one and it’s so much better. I have already used it several times and it works great plus it makes spraying the yard so much easier. It’s a great value!!!

  • Almost perfect...
Style: Backpack
I am currently in a battle with weeds in my lawn, so I have been using my sprayer quite a bit. I had a manual pump backpack sprayer, but got tired of pumping it. This completely solves that issue. Just pull the trigger and it sprays until empty (or you release the trigger...). Battery life is beyond the 4 gallon capacity, but I haven't really tested it. My only real complaint, and the reason for a 4-star review instead of 5, is the lack of a handle at the top of the unit. It needs one more than you'd think it does. My old manual sprayer (same brand) had a handle, and I really miss it. ... show more

  • Capacity and no more pumping
Style: Backpack
Had been using a two gallon pump sprayer to control the weeds on property, but with the late rains mixed with sunny days, the weeds have gone crazy. The 4 gallon capacity and the fact it is a backpack have really helped. I made a plywood shelf that I temporarily attach to the sprayer, so I can use a hand truck to move it around the open areas, but still functions as a backpack in the more confined areas. The fact that it is battery powered means no more pumping. Haven't used it for extended spraying, so can't comment on battery life. Charger is included, and easy to use. ... show more

  • Love this backpack sprayer!
Style: Backpack
I’m 6’1” | +/- 260lb - This is my first backpack weed sprayer and i absolutely love it! If i could change anything, i would request for the hose to be about 6 inches longer and the over the shoulder straps to be a little longer as well but tbh it’s pretty perfect. The tank has a 4 gallon capacity & the wand is long and the pressure is VERY POWERFUL! (I wish i could adjust the pressure some, maybe i can, but i haven’t figured out how to reduce the amount of spray that comes out). The spray pressure is great though - rather have it too powerful than too weak. The motor is decently loud when running but nothing too bad. 100% recommend! Battery life is good too. Have been able to get through multiple gallons / tanks without charging. ... show more

  • Great Pressure!!!

This is an excellent product, I have used it a couple times already and plan to use it for a long time. The charging works very well mixing was not an issue - cleanup was also a breeze.

  • Differences from older Chapin sprayer noted but still a decent sprayer at this price.
Style: Backpack
I owned two Chapin backpack battery sprayer for about 10 years, one for herbicides, and other for general purposes. One finally died, so I bought this replacement. So what has changed? Tank is basically the same shape but the newer sprayer has a smaller fill neck, and unlike the older Chapin sprayers, and there is no top handle to use to pick up the sprayer. The new version uses a non-change enclosed battery. The old version used Black&Decker batteries, so I could swap out batteries when needed. The newer version recommends the battery charger be connected at all times, so it needs to be stored near an electrical outlet. I liked swapping batteries a lot better. Old version had a plastic hose, the new one has rubber, which seems a bit more flexible. The wand tip has changed, but both old and new pretty much accomplish the same things. The harness is the same. Both of my old version harnesses basically dry rotted apart at the seven year mark, and that was with garage storage. Luckily Chapin makes the harness available. I bought harness replacements on Amazon. The fluid level markings on the new version are even more invisible than they were with the older version, but a permanent black marker remedies that problem. It is a good sprayer. I took away a star largely for the non-change battery, and for the lack of a top handle to lift and carry the sprayer. ... show more
