  • Best plier brand for the money hands down.
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 526 Slip Joint Plier
I'm a mechanic and the one area where I went a little cheap in the beginning was with pliers. My old set was Chinese made and not very pleasant to use. The tongue and groove pliers slipped open a lot when pressure was applied and smashed my fingers multiple times rendering them useless. The cutters also weren't very sharp and tended to mash things in half rather than cut. I got tired of them and finally decided to upgrade. I've been around Channel Locks tounge and groove pliers for years but didn't know much about their other types of pliers. Decided to take a chance on these because the price was still really good and they were American made, and wow.. This entire set is very well built and the difference between them and the cheap stuff is like night and day. My favorite is the cutters. Every section of the blade cuts things like zipties and wires effortlessly. No twisting about, just easy clean cuts every time. The tounge and groove pliers speak for themselves and everyone needs a set of those in their toolbox. I find myself grabbing them multiple times a day for all sorts of tasks. I've used them to lock onto bolts with rounded heads and to clamp onto really stiff exhaust springs to hook or unhook them in areas that were too tight to use an actual spring puller tool and they didn't slip off. They're just too darn handy not to have around. The slip joints will lock on and break smaller screws loose on things like carburetors where you think a screwdriver might slip and round out the head and they are another classic design worth always having around. I don't use the needle nose nearly as much except to crimp certain connectors or remove little vent tube clamps but they are certainly as well made as everything else in the set. I was so blown away by the quality and price that I did a little research and found that Channel Lock actually makes the pliers for several of the tool truck companies. The USA line of Cornwell, Mac, and Blue Point pliers are all made by Channel Lock and I believe they also make certain pliers for Matco and Snap On. So at the end of the day you're getting an American made set of pliers that are professional tool truck quality at a very reasonable price. If you're a professional and want to save some money and still buy American this is the set. They will handle every day use and hang with anything else out there. If you're just wanting a set to keep around the house for occasional use forget about the cheap Chinese stuff, spend a little more and buy this set. They'll be a pleasure to use when you need them and they'll last you a lifetime without breaking the bank. Nothing to complain about for the price. 5 stars ... show more

  • Good Quality
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 61A 6-in-1 Screwd...
Well made tools. I like the vinyl dripped handles. I have had trouble with the plastic molded handles coming loose on other tools. These are good and tight.

  • I'm happy
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 526 Slip Joint Plier
I needed a set of pliers because I got tired of finding ways not to use pliers when needed after selling my much hated husky set. As with anything I spend my money on I spend a lot of time looking over them and this ended up being in my final 2 to pick from, the other being the 8 piece irwin set. I had the other set in my cart ready to go then I read the complaint of how large the handles were and coming from husky I understand how much of a set back large handles can really be when working in tight spaces and also the lack of feel that comes with the so I went to my second pick these. Another thing I liked more about this set compared to the other is that this is cheaper because it has less... even if this set cost more per tool I will use every one of the tools, spending extra for more tools that your never going to use. I got them yesterday and let me tell you the quality is great, and I'm not saying that because these are made in the US of A since I can care less about that, but these feel like they belong in my hands and give you great extended feel because of the lack of large grips. This is a becoming more and more rare but I am happy to say that I found tools that are made to be used and not looked at. The action of using these are nice and tight and I don't see how these will get loose over time and the handles are long enough for some decent leverage. ... show more

  • Ok, but will not blow you away
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 526 Slip Joint Plier
This set had most of what I was looking for. As a handyman, I was trying to get a set that I could do daily work with. I was looking for better quality and the brand had a good reputation. So far, I've been underwhelmed. They work as good as a basic set. They DO work, but the handles feel thin and makes it hard to get a good solid grip. They are uncomfortable to work with so far. I'll keep them in my tool box, but regret being so excited by the brand name. ... show more

  • 2016 and MADE IN USA.
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 526 Slip Joint Plier
I got my tools stolen from my work truck and the only thing I was really bummed out about loosing was my 20year old set of Channellock pliers and cutters.. I was so happy when I opened this set and saw they are exactly like my old set. Nothing fancy or super polished. No gimmicky handles or shapes. Just solid tools at a fair price. They are forged not cast like cheap tools. Handle coating is exactly as its always been. I am going to order a set of their linesmen now that I know these are the same ol' Channellocks. The roll up case isn't bad looking. Some of the older reviews said it was crappy plastic.Maybe they fixed it. This one is like a plastic coated nylon. It seems like all the other brands have sold out and moved off shore. Their quality dropped but their prices stayed the same. Just living off their brand names. Its good the see ChannelLock is still keeping it real. ... show more

  • It's channelock, what else do I have to say?
Style: 5-Piece Tool Roll with 526 Slip Joint Plier
If you're trying to build your tool collection like me, don't make the same mistake I made and but cheap pliers and side cutters. Harbor freight is good for a lot of things, but pliers is not one of them. As soon as you pick one of these tools up you can tell the quality is on a whole other level. The handles are much more rigid, the steel is WAY harder, the grip they put on whatever your trying to turn is unbelievably better. Also, the side cutters can cut through much thicker materials with ease. They're just plain better and WILL last longer than you will be alive if they are taken care of. Really, they aren't that expensive considering one set of SnapOn pliers will cost more than this whole set. ... show more
