  • Works perfectly from long distance
Style: 1-Port (Pre-Amp)
Brings in channels my antenna would not alone. I have a GE attic antenna and I am 45 miles from Atlanta. I could receive some channels and they would come and go. I installed this in the attic and connected to my antenna and get all the local channels now and perfectly clear! I have it set on high gain. Love it as i can now watch golf again! I am even able to watch nextgen channels i was unable to get prior. ... show more

  • works like a charm
Style: 2-Port
My house is about 45 miles from the local transmitters. My digital antenna would do OK with a couple of stations but a couple of others would come and go. Talked to the antenna company and they sent me a new antenna, that didn't do much. Seems like the signal needing boosting. Got this on a whim. Does exactly what I had hoped. Got the missing two networks. Would highly recommend ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: 4-Port
I used a basic combiner to connect two separate OTA antennas into this amplifier and then out to several TV's throughout the house and it significantly increased the channel signal and number of available channels.

  • Works OK. Kinda sorta...
Style: 1-Port (Pre-Amp)
We live in a rural area with multiple transmitter towers between 30 and 50 miles away. We had one of those cheap plastic $30 outdoor antennas with the built-in amplifier and rotating motor. It worked great for about five years, and the motor conked out. So I thought I would upgrade to a bigger, all-aluminum antenna, and I wouldn't need the amplifier. Wrong. So then I bought this. Now we get all the same channels we used to, but no better than the $30 all-in-one solution that worked for years. Also, there is no "high-gain" function. LED on the amplifier is supposed to change from green to red when you switch to "high-gain" mode. When I throw the switch on the power splitter, LED stays green. And there's no change in the reception, for better or for worse. So this was all a very expensive experiment that netted me no better than my original cheap solution. UPDATE: Lowered my rating from 3 stars down to 1, for poor customer support. I contacted their customer support over the high-gain issue. I suggested it could just be a defective switch in the power splitter they supplied. They told me to bench test it with a short coax cable. I replied that's what I did before I decided to install it anyway. And I asked if they could just send me a replacement switch to try. They said, no, I needed to bench test it again with a short cable and send them a video of the light not changing to red. I told them that's too much work to climb up there (it is installed on the antenna mast, a few feet below the antenna, per their instructions), de-install their unit, bring it inside, and take a video of something that I already know...when they could very easily send me a replacement switch to try before I went to all that trouble. No follow-up. ... show more

  • A great replacement
Style: 4-Port
After my PCT 4-output amplifier died after 15 years of service, I had to get a replacement....fast! Momma's gotta have her Inside Edition, and without an amp, my big UHF antenna isn't gonna pick up the VHF channel on which it's broadcasting in my area. This unit was a shoo-in for a replacement since it was nearly the exact same form factor as the dead PCT amp. The only difference was that the Antenna In and Power In were swapped around. Not a big deal at all. Plus Channel Master is a great name in the OTA business. Plus, my Antenna is a Channel Master, and I've been real happy with it for 15 years as well. My amp is installed in a protected area outside, about 12 line-feet from the antenna. After re-crimping a few of my failing RG-6 cable connections, I swapped out the power supply for the new one and reconnected all the lines. A bright blue LED let me know that power was flowing. The verdict? Inside Edition!!! My marriage is saved! Later, I rescanned for channels on my TiVo and on my Tablo device and both picked up additional channels, so the amp seems to be pulling in more signal than the last one. Bonus! Bottom line? It's a very solid, easy to install box that I expect to get many years of service from. ... show more
