  • Works as expected.
Style: 4-Port
This will boost the signal coming from your antennae to split it to send to multiple TV's. My atennae was being split to go to four TV's but only two were receiving the antennae signal and the other two were not receiving the signal. With this unit all four tv's receive a strong signal. This does not boost the antennae's reception but rather boosts the received signal from the coaxial cable from the antennae. Easy to insatall and set up. I have it installed in my attic near a power outlet. ... show more

  • Worked beautifully with 6 TVs and long cable runs
Style: 8-Port
I recently got rid of my cable company and switched to fiber internet with wireless streaming. After cancelling cable service, I had 6 perfectly good coax cable drops coming down from my old cable tv splitter in the attic. I replaced that splitter with this Channel Master distribution amp, and ran a 50’ coax cable to the antenna, without any kind of preamp between the antenna and this distribution amp. This successfully provided an antenna signal to all the TVs in the house. The reason I did this is because the FCC considers my county part of the NYC market and only allows cable and streaming companies to deliver NYC as my local news channels. NYC is completely irrelevant to most of us who live here. With this setup I can pull in all the channels that provide me with meaningful local news rather than having to watch all the mayhem in NYC. I was expecting some degree of signal loss because of the long cable runs and 30 year old coax cables, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picture on all 6 TVs. This distribution amp worked flawlessly, even better than expected! ... show more

  • Good amplifier for an antenna
Style: 1-Port (Pre-Amp)
An elderly friend of mine lost her over-the-air TV service. One thing that needed replacing was the decades old Radio Shack amplifier. This worked perfectly. I also had to replace the very old balun transformer. She now gets more channels than ever. I like the inline power adapter, which I installed in the basement. Her antenna is in the attic with the coax running down to the basement and up into the kitchen. This adapter provides power to the amplifier up in the attic through the coax cable, which is great since there are no outlets in the attic. ... show more

  • Worth every penny! Do not buy a cheapie amp!
Style: 1-Port (Pre-Amp)
My test here was improvised for a quick comparison without the amp and then with the amp both at low and high power settings. Running the test several times will give very slightly different results as would a internet speed test for an ISP. We have two primary tower locations, one is at 94 degrees azimuth and the other is at 300 degrees azimuth. My directional antenna is aimed at the 94 degree location. That said, my test proved that even the channels/signals coming in from an extreme off angle to this antenna were much improved using this amp. The channels for my test here that are at the 94 degree location where my antenna is aimed are 7, 14 and 20. The channels at 300 degrees are channels 16, 32 and 36. I considered re-aiming my antenna at 300 degrees and doing another experiment, but, the results here clearly indicate those stations at 300 degrees will get into the green if my directional antenna was aimed at that tower. I have a new, very large multi-directional Bowtie "Antennas Direct" from Amazon that allows aiming each section in the direction required. Thus, this new Antenna I'm mounting will have one section aimed at 94 degrees and the other section at 300 degrees and I know for certain, this Channel Master Amp and the new antenna are going to pair up very well! I'll most likely only need to use the low-power setting for the amp considering it's giving me sufficient signal boost on the low setting. The amp is a keeper! Channel Master is a very well respected company that's been around a very long time. Was this amp worth $100? To me, yes, and it is going to compensate for those rainy days when signal quality goes down. No more dropouts during heavy rain! 5 Stars all around! Don't buy a cheapie and hope to get the quality of electronics you'll get with this more expensive amp! (The pics are reversed for sequence so, first pic is high power for amp, second pic is low power for amp and the 3rd pic was with no amp used) ... show more
