I have used CeraVe products for years now, and I always found that the Foaming Facial Cleanser (for oily skin) was way too strong for me. I used their Hydrating Facial Cleanser (for normal to dry skin), and I am a big fan of that product still and also highly recommend that everyone have it in their routine. That being said, this product is a somewhat niche yet incredible product. I have normal skin, so I mostly use the Hydrating Facial Cleanser from CeraVe—this does a great job at keeping my skin clear AND hydrated. I used the Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser when my skin is irritated/dried out from shaving or from using other skin products. It is an easy way to cleanse my skin without adding to the irritation. I also use it to clear up skin on my body, since stronger products usually do more harm than good for me there. If you have dry or sensitive skin, then this product should definitely form the core of your routine. If you have normal to dry skin, then I would definitely incorporate this but not make it the core of your routine. I finally found a product that works for me. My skin has been super dry for about around my face. Since 2015 I noticed my face get super flaky around my nose. And will peel and discolor to feeling raw. Even after a shower and washing my face. No lotion or moisturizer helped. But this "TIHS" here is good. I can use it and my face doesn't feel tight just smooth. And I follow up with Cerave AM or PM depending on what time of the day. No smell. I struggled for several months with a highly irritated skin barrier, and all of my former skin care products, including cleansers and moisturizers from Cerave, began to sting and burn my skin and become unusuable. I tried so many different products formulated for sensitive skin, including those recommended by my dermatologist, to no avail. I was becoming desperate and tired of the cycle of irritation, and swore off Cerave as a brand. I watch follow several dermatologists on YouTube, and one, Dr. Dray, reviewed the Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser and said it was misnamed and wasn't an oil at all, but more of a gel-liquid in consistency and that it was appropriate for combo/sensitive skin like mine. I tried it and I am in love! Not only does it not irritate my eyes, or neck, or anywhere else, it is just hydrating enough and it also doubles as an effective replacement for a double-cleanse for removing makeup! The item arrived damaged with the pump nozzle broken off but I am still able to use it so I deducted a star. I had been wanting to try this product for some time and am a fan of the other CeraVe products (toners, cleansers, miceller water, etc.). This product wasn't *quite* as moisturizing as I was expecting (I guess the oil part made me think it would be ultra hydrating), but it did leave my skin feeling cleansed and not tight at all (a feeling I hate). It did a good job removing eye makeup and when I toned after I cleansed I didn't pick up any obvious traces of leftover foundation. OMG! This is gold. Hands down the best facewash I’ve tried, ever. First of all, I have a combo, oily, sensitive and dry-patched, kind of a chameleon skin that changes depending on the season and ANY external or internal stressors. I use Retinoids pretty often, during the summer I use adapalene from La Roche Posay as it’s gentler, but otherwise I use prescription Tretinoin and it tends to make my skin more dry. So, I usually use couple different cleanser to suit my different needs depending on the day my skin has. I can’t get enough of this cleanser. I would wash my face 5 times a day if I could because of the consistency that starts off as oil and turns into the most luxurious lather and the clean feel after the wash. I mean clean like squeaky clean but without the tight feeling. Instead it’s so soft and silky. I hope CeraVe never discontinues this product because it’s…Holy Moly Grail. Secondly, it doesn’t make me feel oily or get me extra oily during the day. My T-zone gets a little too oily during the day, especially now, during our hot, humid summer. I do feel my skin is more hydrated and needs less moisturizing. My dry patches are less noticeable because of the magic ingredient I fell in love with a few years back, squalane. If you have dry patches or dry skin you have to try Squalane, I swear by it and recommend to anyone I know. It’s an absolute MUST in my routine. I use pure Squalane oil from the Ordinary and I love to use it as a light moisturizer, just a drop in the morning as a moisture sealer or as straight moisturizer on top of water-based moisturizer and mixed with jojoba oil. In the morning my skin feels baby soft. I got the smaller size and am already running low, so I’m reordering big size. I’d get a bathtubfull of this gold liquid if I could. ... show more

i bought this to remove makeup on the recomendation of Dr. Dray on Youtube. it has no discernsble fragrance, i use it in conjunction with a makeup eraser cloth which removes everything but my eye makeup, so for that i use an eye skip remover. i have dry skin and it feels non-drying on me.
