  • Not for high fire applications
Size: Pkg/12
There's nothing wrong with this product. In a low fire application I'm sure it would work great. But I had a learning experience using them in a high fire.(Pottery making offers MANY learning experiences, which is why I'm so hooked, I suppose.) The clay softens in the kiln- both the clay my pieces were made from and the clay the stilts are made from. The result was pins deeply embedded in the piece, pins that laid down causing the piece to slide down, and a rooster's head with his feathers wrapped tightly around a stilt. I dont get too wrapped up in results and just enjoy the ride, but maybe this will make someone else's ride a little less bumpy. ... show more

  • Worked great for the 05 glaze firing!
Size: Pkg/12
Worked great for the 05 glaze firing! Nothing stuck to the tripods or the kiln.

  • Inconsistent performance
Size: Pkg/12
I used these "high fire" stilts for a cone 6 firing. Half of them have survived, and half melted, ruining the ornaments I had on them. These were very thin slabs of clay too. I can't image how they would perform while holding something heavier, like a mug.

  • Do not buy if your firing even remotely close to 2000°f
Size: Pkg/12
These stilts are not rated above 2000°f. I only fired this batch to 1100°c and soaked it for 10 min at that temp then ramped back down. This is a costly setback in both time and money for me. Do not buy these stilts as they are NOT able to handle 1100°c as stated.

  • These are not suitable for high fire cone 5-6.
Size: Pkg/12
The first time I kiln fired to cone 5 (about 2100°) these stilts worked fine, but the 2nd firing they completely failed, crumbling, ruining my ceramic pieces and my kiln shelf. These are not meant for high fire as described. I’m very upset!!!!!

  • Save your time and money and don't buy
Size: Pkg/12
This inferior product destroyed hundreds of dollars worth of ceramics. Cannot fire to Cone 6 which is a fairly common firing temperature.... why you would make and sell a product that cannot fire to standard temp such as this is beyond me.

  • Perfect
Size: Pkg/12
I had other little stilts that were just little separate kind of knobs and not very sturdy. These worked perfectly and kept things upright and in place
