  • Do NOT Hesititate to Buy!
Color: White Size: Elongated Style: Wood Slow Close Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
I can't believe I'm so thrilled to write a review about a toilet seat hahaha. Plain and simple, this thing is the best of ALL worlds. It feels good and sturdy with some weigh to it like a wooden seat. It has all the durability, cleanliness, and long lasting appearance benefit of a plastic seat. I had a good feeling and working wooden seat BUT the enamel/paint was wearing off on top and on the bottom, was either showing signs of staining (yuck) or simply just losing color to have wood show through. So I go to buy a replacement but who know toilet seats were this freaking complicated. Plastic ones are thin, flimsy, and poor feeling. Wooden ones did not have the lifespan to due to PAINT wearing off and they stain. This guy is wood that is encased in plastic. Problems solved! Now lets talk about the slow close feature. Many reviews had me a little worried about the slow close feature on this seat. Let me tell you, there is nothing you practically need to worry about. I admit, this seats slow close feature is more like SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW close but it works. Importantly though, you can just give the seat a good "flick" to close and knock out like half the distance with 1 flick of the wrist and it will continue to do its slooooow thing hahhaa. I'm happy to report that there is no tough resistance to closing or anything like that. It just moves freakin slow. You can lower the seat to completely closed with no abnormal effort. Unless you need the seat to lower fast (why by a slow close in this case) you will not find a logical reason to worry about the speed of how slow the seat closes hahaha. Now on to the lid. It feels good and sturdy like a wooden one. I read a review where someone thought it was a flimsy plastic lid. This is not the case with the 2 I ordered at all. I just wanted to point this out so people concerned about the lid or sitting on it would have some accurate info about it. Installation was easy. Get a flathead screw driver and a pair of pliers or channel locks and done. I will say there is nothing fancy about the bolt or fastening mechanism. That seems to be a "feature" other toilet seat brands promote. In the end you really just need a nice secure and strong fasten that won't easily come lose. So far it hasn't come loose so this checks all the boxes. Some people talk about the 4 little rubber "plugs" that come with this. They go in the round holes on the underside of the hinge base. The base that sits flat on the toilet itself when you screw this in. No instructions come with this thing but knowing that should solve any questions as to "what are these and where do they go". After that it's self explanatory. Bolt to toilet, done hahahaha. In all I find this toilet seat to basically be everything anyone would ever need. And again, don't fret one bit about the slooooooooooooooooooooowness of the slow close feature. It's a non-issue... unless you like inventing issues where ones do not really exist hahaha ... show more

This toilet seat is ideal in every aspect that mattered to me for purchase, and did not disappoint; quality, style, ease of assembling, and very ease to clean.

  • I am raving about a Toilet Seat LOL
Color: White Size: Round Style: Standard Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
This is a throne game-changer! I installed this myself in minutes. It fits our commode perfectly and it's not lightweight like some of the non-wood seats we've tried. The og wood ones, as others have said, are pretty icky. They eventually peel, they stain, and idk but...Germs much on a peeling stained seat? Moreover, some of the less expensive seats have those connections that loosen over time and then you're drifting on the throne. No thanks! This one is shiny, easy to clean, and sturdy. Of course, no toilet seat is a forever purchase but this one will easily outlast anything that's just wood or plastic. The composite material over the wood is such a good idea and I believe it's way more sanitary. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Appears to be a good value
Color: Crane White Size: Elongated Style: Standard Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
I like the plastic-coated wood construction...easy to clean and durable. I ordered 3 seats but the hinges on one of them were broken into several pieces. Amazon quickly sent a replacement seat and the hinges on it were fine. However, this has made me question its durability...time will tell. The instructions don't mention a plastic piece that I decided goes between the porcelain toilet and the hinge to better hold the lid in place. Also, opening the hinge to enable installation was difficult on a couple of the hinges...not a big deal overall, just a little frustrating. ... show more

  • UPDATE: Hinge broke. Plastic coating that won't stain, crappy plastic bolts, tiny bumpers.
Color: White Size: Round Style: Wood Slow Close Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
Got a replacement under Centoco warranty. Holding up so far. Bumped up to 3 stars. -------------------------- UPDATE 11/12/2020: One of the hinges cracked, so not as sturdy as I had originally hoped. And I'm past the return date. I will try to contact Centoco to see if I can get a replacement. -------------------------- UPDATE 06/04/2020: Yesterday I was sitting on the toilet as a seat, lid down, to help my daughter put a band-aid on her finger. The seat kept pushing to the left or right on the molded plastic 'bumpers'. I was afraid it was going to break so I immediately got up. Basically, the top cover seat won't sit square if you're heavier. I might put some rubber bumpers that cover the entire underside of the seat so it won't wobble, but I fear the hinges might break from the torquing if it occurs again. -------------------------- I always prefer getting the basic wood core seats that are heavily painted as they are more sturdy and tend to last longer. However, the ones I get the from the big box stores tend to lose their paint, absorb moisture over time, or get stains on them that are impossible to wash off. The way this seat is made is great because it has the slow close mechanism I like (kids like letting seats just DROP) and it's made with a very sturdy, stain-free plastic coating on the seat itself. The rim is all plastic, but made with a thick density that gives the seat some heft. I'm a big guy and I don't feel like I'm putting any undue pressure on it. Also, it's very easy to clean. My only gripe and the reason for this not being a 5 star review are the plastic bolts that hold the seat in place are not made from the same density of plastic and are flimsy. Using a screwdriver easily mangled the plastic and didn't allow for the tightest hold. I'm probably going to purchase a metal bolt kit to replace these. Also, the flip up lids on the hinges don't lock in place as I've had to push them back down a few times. Something to look out for the are very tiny white bumpers that go into the holes on the bottom of the hinges. I'm assuming these are there to help protect the porcelain around the boltholes. There are 8 in all and they are easily dropped or lost. I found myself sweating a few times as I have thick fingers and I feared possibly dropping them on the floor or in the bowl and not being able to find them. Despite the shortcomings, I still am happy with the purchase. ... show more
