Something about these toys is working. My youngest cat LOVES this toy over anything. Insists that I play fetch with her. Once, she destroyed the two she once had & later had an adverse reaction to vaccines. After days of seeing her sick, I looked everywhere for more. I have tried many catnip toys. This is the one, that my Raggamuffin cat, seeks out to play with. I just bought 4 more to have in stock. I have never done that for any other toy for him.

Pictured here is my baby Jalaja (JJ), and his best friend Avi the Avaca(t)do! JJ loves to chew on things he's not supposed to (namely my tablet's charging cord), so I bought him this as a distraction. I have two other cats, and one of the others will play with Avi, but the other isn't interested at all. So 2 out of 3 cats love Avi, lol. The toy is well made and the cats can sink their claws into the dark green mesh to hold on...and luckily, this same mesh is great for cats who have a chew fetish to sink their teeth into. (See first pic of JJ in action). The only downside to this toy (as with all cat toys of this size and nature), is after a week or so, it disappears. Two cats vigorously batting Avi about sends him into that dark, undiscovered territory beneath your furniture, never to be seen again. I've bought 3 of these toys and two are missing...I recommend buying 2 or 3 in case one gets misplaced. ... show more

    • Avacado - Good for some cats
I'll start by designating that I bought the avocado toy. My boyfriend's sister got one of these for her cat, and her cat LOVED it sooooo much. Her cat immediately started purring and rubbing her face on the toy. The force of her pushing her face against it would actually push the toy away from her, so she would drag herself forward using the carpet. She pushed the thing a solid three feet, she loved it so much! My cats on the other hand..... They were interested. It smells like catnip, so they all gave it a curious sniff. My girl cat in particular hooked her claws into it and pushed it around a little. However, they were ultimately not impressed. I do not blame the toy for this; cats are picky. So while this is very good for some cats, it just wasn't for my cats. I'll be keeping it around to see if maybe one day one of them will play with it. As for toy design, my only concern is that the avocado has some "webbing" on the back of it to add more texture. This is great and all, but I worry the cats may tangle their claws in it. The webbing seems flimsy enough that if a claw ever does get tangled, the cat should be able to rip through the webbing without much resistance, but just to be safe, I will continue to supervise them when I attempt to get them to play with it. I can't speak much on the durability since the cats aren't actually playing with. I can say that other toys I have that are a similar are usually very durable, so I do not have much concerns. Overall, 8/10, good for some cats, but not for all cats. I will update if I ever get a cat to take more interest in it or if any safety concerns arise. ... show more

Our cat loves this toy and all her catnip toys. This one is interesting in that the mesh side helps keep her teeth clean.
