A surreal tale of the secret world of the cats of the Louvre, told by Eisner Award winner Taiyo Matsumoto. The world-renowned Louvre museum in Paris contains more than just the most famous works of art in history. At night, within its darkened galleries, an unseen and surreal world comes alive—a world witnessed only by the small family of cats that lives in the attic. • Beautifully Drawn Illustration Book
Precious book. The book came a bit bent but that's fine what's important is the inside content. The overall story is delicate and beautiful and the artist really took effort to beautifully describe the setting, plot, beginning and middle. Toward the end at highest point I think it was too short. It took me a long way to read to there but the best part ended fast. Just wish that part of story were described a bit longer like how he put effort in all other parts of the story. It didn't get to the depth, that's what I think. The beginning and middle and toward beginning of end the stories had depth and meaningful, but at its highest point it wasn't really explained further or took time into more. It felt like a rush ending and less effort for ending part. A typical highest point and ending what readers would expect. The beginning and middle was very unexpected and that's why I felt it could be better and more unique. But overall is beautiful and the highest point of the book is beautiful as well but just it went too fast as only few pages rather than its chapter. Beautiful book, beautifully drawn, and relaxing, calming to read. ... show more

  • made me cry thrice
this moving story about grief, memory, looking back at one’s past and the decisions and choices that inform their present, told through the setting of the louvre and cats, it’s such a rich beautiful creative world that i loved spending time in and would love to spend more time in again in the future. lyrical and poetic even in its illustration style, this emotionally resonant tale will have you reaching toward the tissue box for a tissue. ... show more

  • Damn Good.
Most excellent! Lovely art and quirky story telling. But what else would you expect it's Taiyo Matsumoto. I can't say it's my favorite piece of his work but it's still damn good.

  • This is a hard cover comic book
This was on my daughter's XMas wish list. She had seen it in a book store and really wanted it. She loves it!

  • Beautiful hardback book. That’s all.
I don’t know how I missed this book being a manga comic book?! A black and white comic book. That is not my bag, man. But, I’m going to give it a chance only based on the reviews of the people who liked it.

  • Whimsical & Magical
A guide at the Louvre spots a white kitten one day and discovers a magical and mysterious world that has lived behind the scenes since the museum was a palace. Whimsical and fantastic, with moments both beautiful and sad. A charming work that captures the heart.

  • Love the Content but...
My book came with a stained that I don't know if it is toxic or not (hahaha). I really hate when this happens. It seems like a used copy which drives me insane. I was expecting a polish hardcover and I got this. Incredible. There are black spots everywhere. I'm so mad.

  • Does not display properly on Kindle or iPad
It seems to be impossible to page through this on my Kindle or iPad. So there’s no way to read it.
