  • Great Oil,Lab to back it up
Size: 5 QT Style: 5W-30
I own a 2013 Sonata (purchased new)with around 106,000 miles now. I have used this oil in the car every change. I change my oil every 5000 miles. I get the oil tested every couple oil changes. I will post a copy of a report from around 90k For you to look at for yourself but the last of the report says it best "This engine is wearing better than most of its kind. Fuel dilution is harmless at just a trace, and a TBN of 4.7 is good and strong. Try 7,000 miles for the next run." ... show more

  • Great quality, great deal.
Size: 5 Qt Style: 20W-50
When I saw the deal for $13 for this, I thought it was too good to be true and had to be a catch. Where I live (HI), I can't even find this in a 5 Qt jug. They're only sold individually at 1 Qt, with the cheapest store having them go for almost $5 each. But I went ahead and ordered 3 of these anyway, since I hardly have issues with Amazon purchases, and the few times I did, they've always been resolved. I thought the first issue would be not being able to complete the order with a warning that they don't ship to HI. But the order went through with no problems. And I received all well-packed 3 bottles within the next couple weeks. I'm glad I got 3 of them as I see the price went up already to $18, but that's still a great deal. This is the only oil I use for my '72 Super Cheyenne Chevy. This Castrol 20W-50 is very reputable. When I change my oil at the auto hobby shop, I get comments from other do-it-yourselfers that that's the oil they use too for their classics. ... show more

  • Buy the Best
Size: 5 Qt Style: 20W-50
Most people these days have no idea about motor oil, some don't even know how to add oil, much less change it. That being said, I have a fleet of vehicles which I maintain for my employees. After years of using most major brands of oil on the market, I am most pleased with the results of Castrol. I get, on average, between 250,000 and 300,000 miles per engine before replacement. Castrol delivers the best results for my money. And remember, the best oil is cheap insurance against engine problems. Once your engine hits 100,000 miles, go to the next heavier grade. This will keep your engine running longer. So if you are using 10W30, move up to 10W40. I use 20W50 in my trucks after 100,000 miles. ... show more

  • Why use synthetic when this oil works better! Best oil out there!
Size: 5 QT Style: 10W-30
I've been using GTX my entire life and this is by far the best quality oil out there. I have used it in old and new cars some which were still running perfect when I sold them with 200,000 miles plus. My F250 has 278,000 miles on it currently! Runs like new! The sludge protection is unmatched even in extreme conditions. If you have doubts, try it and after dropping your oil many miles later you'll be a believer too and no other oil will make you happier. I will continue to use GTX forevermore. ... show more

  • Used in place of "HydroGear Genuine Transaxle Oil"
Size: 5 Qt Style: 20W-50
Man, if you watch the video from HG about how to do transaxle service they really want you to use "HydroGear Genuine Transaxle Oil" but the manual for my mower actually specs 20w50 motor oil sooooooo a bottle of this oil + a pair of filters was a lot cheaper than getting their service kit. It's a little slow letting the oil drip down from the tank at the top, but I'm a homeowner and don't need to do this that often. I think it took me 4 years to get to the 100 hours for the break in service. ... show more

  • Best Oil
Size: 5 Qt Style: 10W-40
I run a fleet of vans and trucks. I have used Castrol oil in them all for over thirty years. I have tried other oils, but they don't provide the protection that Castrol oil does. All my vehicles last for 250,000 to 300,000 miles as long as the oil is changed every 3000 miles. I used Pennzoil and Others at first, but I kept having engine issues. I switched to Castrol and those engine problems went away. Do what you like, but I am a believer. I won't switch. Saves me big bucks in overhaul charges. ... show more

  • Great engine oil!
Size: 5 QT Style: 5W-30
I use this for my 2007 Toyota Camry that is at ~180,000 miles. Yeah it should take 5W-20, but it has the excessive oil consumption problem and the dealership prescribed thicker oil rather than actually taking care of the problem and replacing the gasket as mentioned in the technical bulletin (that's a different soap box). My car runs smoothly, and still has great performance thanks partly to this oil. I drive ~60 miles a day on weekdays, so yes I have to top it off at least once before I change my oil. I usually top off every 2,000 miles to be safe. ... show more

  • Seriously, it's just oil
Size: 5 Qt Style: 10W-40
Oil. I mean. Come on. It's oil. If you have some mechanical aptitude you can't screw it up. Used it on my 2008 Honda Shadow. Oil and filter. Bike really doesn't notice and there are no huge puddles on the garage floor. Clearly the bike enjoys it and didn't throw it up. Since my bike is a toy and doesn't get a whole lot of mileage on it, undoubtedly the oil will be swapped next time and the bike will, again, never mention a thing. Why is there a flavor rating for this oil? I didn't taste it or use it for french fries. Motors only please. ... show more
