This little cast iron mortar and pestle is just right for my kitchen. It is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, so it doesn't take up a whole lot of space for storage. The cast iron seems like decent quality and it is quite heavy despite the size. The interior is not perfectly smooth, which seems like it would aid in grinding. This is such a cute little mortar and is cast iron. Appears to last a lifetime given the material, and totally works if needing to grind up some spices. Makes a really nice gift! Shipping time was very fast as well.

I love this cast iron mortar and pestle. It's perfect for crushing and grinding spiced, nuts and small things. It's great quality and well made, as it is heavy duty. Durable and sturdy to say the least. I used it to grind up some store brought parsley and it definitely brought the smell and flavor out of it. It did a good job. The pestle is the perfect size and fits well in my hands. It's easy to clean and store away. I leave mine out, as it is also a decor piece. I love it!!! I didn't exactly read the entire description and I did not expect it to be a tiny mortar and pestle, it works great for herbs, but I do wish it was bigger.
