It holds a lot of sockets. The plastic insert has a spring loaded ball to lock the socket in place. The nice thing is they pull off easy but stay in place and don't just fall off even the 1/2 inch drive sockets. When it is full of socket's it can be heavy.

Have had it in my cart for a few months now and was a great cheap option over buying expensive ones but I have had 2 of the clips already break and on sockets I almost never used. My other main gripe is what others have said about the hollow clips being very hard to remove if you’re wanting to reorganize the clips. Mine stays in my cart so I just bent them down. Great starter tray. If you are moving your sockets around and out of your box a lot, I would look at something a bit sturdier. ... show more

Really nice tray ive had it on my rollcart for a few months now. And it's perfect. The socket clips are very fragile though and don't do well if you accidently pull the socket forward and not straight up. Luckily matco sells replacements for their brand trays that fit this one.

The price was good and the overall quality is as expected and good enough to use professionally on my mechanic job, however there’s one irritating flaw. The removable socket nubs are normally solid are hollow in this set which prevents easily sliding them off the track to reconfigure the socket layout. The tabs that are supposed to hold these in the track pop up into the hollow socket nubs when trying to remove them and it requires tools and/or finagling to slide them off which often breaks the retaining tab and may allow them to slide off undesirably. ... show more

Works well for holding sockets, I had a couple sockets that didn't quite fit but they did on my standard stamped metal holder. I filed a small jagged lip off the socket and it slid right on so I blame the cheap HF socket. One of the 1/4" holders was missing the ball detent so I contacted customer service and they responded right away and sent me a new one next day! ... show more

This product is entirely plastic besides the ball that holds the sockets in. The manufacturing on each of these little plastic pieces is inconsistent. Some of them let go of the socket super easily whilst some of them refuse to let go and you have to break them to retrieve your socket. The retaining clip on the end of each row is plastic, and it often breaks when trying to get the socket clips off. On a similar note you almost have to break them to get and of the 1/2 inch drive socket clips off, as they catch on them before they come all the way off.
