I’ve had case knives as long as I can remember and these new EDC knives by case are of consistent quality. Maybe a little on the expensive end for a knife of this grade but I love good American made knives and this is a great addition to the collection. Even better when you can catch them on sale.

    • Are they made to look distressed?

I received my Case knife today. I opened it up and it had a "distressed" look to it. The handle looked dirty or like it had a chemical burn. The blade had a stonewash or looked like it was heavily oxidize. The knife looked new and no signs of use. Maybe it was a one off from the factory? I looked at several different videos and photos. They looked crisp without the "distressed" look that I got. I ordered another one and returned the first one. Hopefully it was just a bad one of the bunch. I will update this when the second one arrives. Update- received the 2nd knife and it looks the same as the first one. I am not trying to impress anyone with it so I will keep it for an everyday carry. However if you are looking for a clean and polished Kinzua they seem to be made like this. Or maybe a wholesaler sent a bad batch to Amazon? Or maybe Case does not have quality inspection? Who knows and you can try your luck. good looking flipper but it has severe issues; blade not centered and rubs, lock bar rattles to the point it seems the knife is about to fall apart, and due to the rubbing, the blade does not flip smooth. Not what you would expect from this Case and Southern Grind collaboration.

What a great knife. Love the quality of the blade and it came razor sharp. The pocket clip is in the right place and the opening action is so smooth. I love how it closes.
