Description

The Large Amber Bone CV Stockman is a part of the Amber Bone CV Family. Our Amber Bone color and Peach Seed jig are signatures of the Case brand and the true heart of the Case line. Many Case users call on our traditional alloy steel blades to get the job done right while enjoying its ease of re- sharpening. Stockmans pack three blades in a convenient but very practical pocket knife. The Clip and Sheepfoot blade sit on the pocket end while the Spey blade sits on the cap end. The Clip blade is commonly used as a multi- purpose blade and preferred for detail work. The Sheepfoot blade allows for added strength at the point making it great for carving and achieving a clean cut. The Spey blade is commonly used as an all-purpose utility blade. This knife is constructed with our chrome vanadium (CV) steel. Some knife lovers will settle for nothing less than chrome vanadium blades, since this special formula of alloyed steel is the “original” Case blade steel. Case chrome vanadium blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re- sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish. This ensures that your knife will be around for future generations to enjoy. This multi-purpose pocket knife is perfect for everyday situations, hiking, or hunting. Comes conveniently packaged in a box. Made in Bradford, PA, USA from domestic and imported materials..

  • Large Case XX stockman with CV blades
I am very pleased with this Case XX Large Stockman folding knife with CV blades. It’s arrived brand new in flawless shape. The action is smooth as can be on all three blades. All three are very sharp And have a high mirror polish. The jigged amber bone is beautiful and feels great. This quality, made in the U.S. for under $60.00. Just get out of town with that. • Awesome. Just Awesome!
Hi, my name is Steve and I'm now and XX-Aholic! I love this knife! The fit and finish is wonderful, price was great and the shipping was fast and packaged well. I'm so happy with this purchase. I oiled the blades with RemOil, let it sit a few hours and then wiped off excess. I was using the Warncliffe blade a bunch for carving some black cherry and for all my other cutting needs and I just noticed a few little specks of discoloration near the nail nick. I don't think they were there when I first got the knife. Maybe it requires more oil to be left on the blades, but I thought it would be okay with the thin film of protection from the RemOil. I decided to force a patina on these 3 blades in light of this so I currently have all three blades buried in pieces of potato for the overnight. After a nice patina develops I will probably use Boshield T9 on all the blades, but wipe it off the clip blade that I use for food prep a little more thoroughly after allowing some amount of time for the oil to penetrate the pores of the steel. I love the CV steel. I'm just using a little smith's honing kit to sharpen them and the Sheepsfoot blade sharpened up fast and got SCARY sharp after I stropped it well on a couple of progressive grades of abrasives/polishes on my strop. The Amber Bone Jigged handles are gorgeous. They are so well fitted this knife feels like a piece of fine jewelry in your hand. I find myself holding it and fondling it when I'm driving around. I know that sounds crazy, but for this price I'm just blown away to get such quality. It's rare these days to be so ultra-satisfied and "wowed" with any product anymore. This is one of those mega-bang-for-your-buck deals that seem to be disappearing more and more these days as everyone seems to be puking off to commie-land for manufacturing. Thank God that W.R. Case and Sons is still producing such wonderful products for such affordable prices. If you are considering this knife quit waffling and get off the fence and just buy it. You'll be so happy you did. Just keep in mind that this is not a stainless steel so you should bone up on how to properly care for high carbon steel. The chromium and vanadium add some corrosion resistance, but it's like stainless-light. Should be fine with a good patina and some oil, I have a vintage Case XX 6265 SAB that was massively corroding and had to be sandblasted to make smooth again. After forcing a patina on that one with a potato and then applying a thin film of oil it looks old-school and awesome and you can't see any pitting. When you buy a Case XX knife like this you aren't just buying it for yourself, if cared for it will probably last 3 generations or more before needing to be retired. And even then it's still a nice piece to keep in the collection even if it looks like 3 folding sharpened toothpicks! Now stop reading and BUY THIS KNIFE! Then figure out which Case knife you are gonna buy next because if you are like me you'll be addicted too! Enjoy! ... show more

  • Quality made to last forever!
I bought three similar pocket knives two Bucks and one Case. Two were to be gifts and the third was for myself, as it happened I ended up with the Case which is the largest of the three. I have always liked Bucks but haven't bought one in years. What a difference a few years make, put the Bucks head to head with the Case and you can see for yourself the value and pure quality of the Case over the Buck. The Case took a edge that was way better than the two Bucks and the build quality was miles ahead of the Bucks . I am not a fan of "made in China" when it comes to cutting tools but in fairness I must say the Bucks for the price were good knives. However the only way I will buy another one is if the Case is not available because even at twice the price of the Buck it is at least four times the value to me. This is one Great knife! ... show more

  • KNIFE FOR A MAN
If you're a Southern man who carries a knife in his pocket as a tool, not a weapon, this is for you. Good steel that will sharpen easily and stay sharp. Big enough to be useful This is the classic pocket knife for a competent man.

  • Nice knife but was shipped the wrong steel choice
Nice knife, although the description was incorrect: description said it was CV steel ( chrome vanadium) but I received the CS steel ( carbon steel). I’m not too picky so that was okay, but be aware the advertised text might be incorrect.

  • Case knives are best
I’ve carried and used Case knives since I was a boy. They are of great quality and durable. I wouldn’t carry any other.
