Recently moved to Maryland from Florida and needed a warm jacket as we move to a farm. I was not at all familiar with the Carhartt brand. Little did I know that I became a true Marylander when wearing this jacket. I love the hood and the warmth as well as the fit. I am 5 feet tall and weigh 125 and this jacket, with a base layer, and a shirt gives me a nice warm hug when I put it on. After purchasing it and telling my mother-in-law about it, her response was, “oohhh you bought a Carhartt?“. It gets extremely windy here, and cold. I especially love the hood. Exactly what I needed to stay warm in the winter. There is a nice weight to it which I personally like. This is a high quality jacket and the color was as expected. I also want to add that there are pockets on the inside and outside.

I had attempted to purchase a womens wool lined Carhartt coat last winter on Amazon. It was a slightly different style with the rubbed waist band. It was out of stock. I kept it in my cart hoping it would come back in stock and when it did, I purchased. The item ended up getting canceled and I was back on the hunt. Locally it has been tough to find womens styles that are available in size small as well. Nothing in our area it seems, at any of the farm retail stores. I went back on the hunt again this year and found this here on Amazon and available. I am 5’7 and 125lbs. I chose the size small and it fits perfectly, with the ability to layer, but also fine with a teeshirt underneath. This style does not have the ribbed knit cuff at the waist like the sleeves have. The previous style I liked had that so I wasn’t sure if I’d like the way it fits and looks at the waist but I don’t mind it at all. It fits great over my carhartt coveralls. I’ve worn it with jeans and leggings as well and also fits and looks fine with those too. I have a little longer arms and the fit is perfect in arm length too. I have layered carhartt hooded sweatshirts underneath and the all over fit is still great. It’s the wool lining for me! I love love love the soft wool lining. It’s cozy and just a lot warmer feeling that the nylon fabric lining some of the womens styles have. There are a lot of pockets, along with those that zip closed, inside and out. We have a poultry farm and so far I’ve found the pockets to be helpful for my supplies, cell phone and keys while working. My cell phone doesn’t fall out when I’m bending and working like it often did with my old barn coat. Plenty of room in the pockets for my (larger) iPhone as well. The hood fits nicely and has drawstrings that can be tied but I haven’t even had to tie them. Just pull them a bit and the hood has stayed on even in the strong country wind. I’m super happy with this purchase. I’ve stayed warm in our recent negative temps, working outside for a long period of time. I’ve also worn this casually out running errands, to dinner and even to church. I would definitely recommend this carhartt coat. I’m glad the search is over! ... show more

First off this coat is GREAT! keeps your warm but it is heavy. I’m normally a Large but after looking at the size chart I ordered a medium, which fits perfect. I have no bad stuff to say about this coat. It’s the perfect winter jacket. Before you buy, look at the size chart so you get your perfect fit. For reference, I’m 153lb. 5’5.     • Loose fit… but fitted?

I was so excited to receive this jacket — I work at Trader Joe’s and I’m a team lead/order writer for the dairy cooler so I’m in there for hours but wearing a work issued hoodie isn’t enough to stay comfortable in there. Normally I’m a medium in everything. Amazon suggested a “small” for me, and I figured since it’s “loose” fit I couldn’t go wrong with a small. Now, it DOES fit and it looks great on, but I’m 5’7”, 140 lbs and I’m all long legs and long arms lol so… the arm length is perfect which is usually hard for me to find something with good arm length without sizing up. It fits my body great and I wore it to walk my dog and it was cozy in this Florida “winter” cold snap we are currently having. However! While the small is great and looks good, it’s kind of snug in the arm sleeves… when I flex my arm and bend my elbows it feels tight around that area and in the bicep area it’s like I’ve got a blood pressure monitor cuff on. I was wearing a thin long sleeve shirt under the jacket. I noticed a lot of people said it was loose enough to wear a sweater or hoodie, so I tried wearing the jacket with a hoodie — too tight. All that being said, I love the jacket and was excited to wear it but I’ve got to exchange it for the medium. Hopefully it’ll still look just as cute on me and not bulky. Needed a nice winter jacket that would be warm with how cold it gets where I live. The weight is pretty heavy but worth it for the warmth it provides. I have pretty long arms and this jacket fits perfectly for me with room in the shoulders and belly so I can wear a small hoodie under if needed.
