  • Not a lot of other options for F-body’s
Looks pretty good, functions as intended. But both hard lines have “nicks” and gouges. There’s one dent in the hardline that looks like someone took a center punch to it. There’s one spot that LOOKS like an angle grinder nicked it pretty well. It was packaged perfectly so this was obviously a cardone quality control issue. But, all things considered i would buy again simply because there’s not many other options other than a $500 rebuild from “turn one” for these cars. This works, but should be a fraction of the price for the condition of the new (refurbished) rack and pinion. ... show more

  • Worked on 2000 WS6
Got this installed on a 2000 WS6 Gave 4/5 starts because 1) first one received looked used and was leaking oil in box so had to get another sent out and 2) had a hell of a time getting the steering shaft connected to this. Tip, if it does not slide on like your old one, disconnect the shaft from the upper bolt engine bay and take that assembly out. on the ground connect the bottom piece of the shaft to the rack and use a hammer and piece of 2x4 to get it on.. lol...wasn't ideal obviously but it worked.... also since I had larger alternator I had to disconnect it and move to the side to get the lines reconnected as it was close to the back of it... There are youtube videos on how people remove/reinstall this.. Another note, the driver side rack bolt cannot be removed without further work because it is close to the oil pan.. they place the bolts top down. I like others used a saw to cut the bolt head off and then replace it upside down. ... show more

  • Awesome
This is a great rack I installed this rack in my Camaro with a new power steering pump and here's your lesson. The system needs to be properly bled, I used an A/C vacuum pump and made my own adapter to fit the top of the power steering reservoir to bring all of the air bubbles out of the system and to the surface that is key. You have to get all the air out of the system and fill it with fluid before you run it or you will break the seals in the rack or the power steering pump... Also I do solo Auto X competitively and I completed an entire season with this remanufactured steering rack with no issues in fact I finished the season with the most points in my class and fourth overall! the car just steers wonderfully like when it was new I just hope it lasts as long as the original one did ... show more

  • Jam nuts??
Don't come with jam nuts for outer tie rods ends

  • Seemed good at first
Fit the car, didn't leak at idle in the garage. Put 100 miles on the car and the rack is dumping fluid out both ends of the boots and dumping fluid out the cap near the base of the steering shaft. Of course I waited too long to Install it so I'm sure I'm screwed
